Hello all,
I got bit by the bug and I am very new to the RC heli hobby. I have always been into any type of flight. I actually own and fly my own hot air balloon. I guess RC heli's are just cheaper than the real thing. Well, I just bought the Falcon 40 along with the simulator. Did I make a good buy? Also, what kind of mods or upgrades can I do when I first get this? What else could I be doing besides reading the manual and the simulator? Any helpful tips of info and knowledge will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you very much and happy flying,
Matthew

That's good advice.

Find your local heli club/flying field. Stop by and ask the guys what they fly and why. Stop by again and ask more questions.

Great advice!! Also put alot of time on that sim. It saves in the long run.

The Falcon 40 IIRC is similar to a mini-pred. If the 40 is checked out correctly before flight etc.and trimmed then it is a nice little bird (ready-to-fly helis rarely fly properly straight out of the box!).

However, having said that, it is a single rotor collective pitch heli. Nowhere near as stable as a co-axial rotored heli. You will need to take gentle baby steps with it on the road to flying, unless you like rebuilding every flight!

The simulator will be a great help before, during and after your heli flying skills develop.

Best part of what you got is the sim I'm assuming it's FMS or something comparable? Good luck with your heli!

Thank you for all your replies. I got the heli delivered today and now I'm trying to figure out the trimming and what all these other parts are. The directions that came in the box are kinda a joke. So now I'm trying to figure out what all these parts are called and what they do. So anyone know of where I can get a diagram or something like that to look at? So what is a good RC mag that I could get? I'm having a lot of fun with this even though I'm kinda lost.
