I heard that the toothbrush was invented in West Virginia. That's why it's not called a teethbrush.

you said you bought a t-rex and a kinetic...then you had to do some work to get them to fly....so if you spend HUNDREDS on a heli and it needs work to fly.......how can a 150 dollar heli not need a little attention......if I spent 459 dollars on a t-rex I would expect it to fly properly right away...but thats not the case

my point is this......I dont see how adding 2 3c washers which takes 5 min is such a big deal...you dont have to change anything major and its NOT a serious design flaw....the tensioners need SLIGHT...yes SLIGHT adjustment......AND not everyone has had the problem..only some

and you have STILL not answered my question.......what RTF heli...and I mean an aerobatic capable heli...not a coax...which RTF is perfect out of the box??????

I also do not believe I was rude or insulting...I asked a simple question.......why you feel the need to be rude and insulting is beyond me...but apparently its an ongoing problem........I really have a hard time believing you fly a nitro if adding 2 washers to a heli is a big deal
1. The Trex and Kinetic are not rtfs.
2. Adding 2 washers isn't a big deal. It is a big deal if your helicopter crashes because you didn't know you had to add 2 washers.
3. I've only bought 3 rtf helis, and the hbk2 is the first one that has collective pitch.

so..then...all this bashing...when you dont even know if ANY other RTF even fly out of the box.....let me tell you what I know from rtf's....BLADE CP and CP PRO.....sold as RTF 3D capable out of the box...B.S....both need MAJOR upgrades to get any king of decent flight...AXE CP...same thing....VENOMCP....most wont even fly out of the box...also sold as 3d capable out of the box.....BLADE400......costing almost 500 dollars...advertised as HARD3d ready.RTF..just charge the batteries....except you need to upgrade the servos and gyro IMMEDIATELY...........so the HBK...at 150 bucks..needs 2 washers to fly(some not all)....doesn't sound that bad to me

now the question is this.....why didn't you do what MOST people do,and what RR is here for??????...you start a post and say.."I just got a HBK...what do I need to do or look out for before I fly???"....and 10 of us will chime in on what you need to do to get the heli 100%

I will also say this one more time......I didn't take anything personal...till you started getting rude and insulting.....the answer to your problem was posted and you STILL continued to bash..and insult....and since you have 0 experience with any other rtf cp helis...how can you be such an expert???

when I first bought my bladeCP no one told me, if the tail rotor hits the ground the tail motor burns out....so on my second attempt at a hover I had a tail strike....is this the manufacturers fault that I burned out the motor???...so the belt slid off of the pulley...did you check the tension before you flew???

I just dont see how you can condem an entire company's helis based on such a minor trivial thing

you definitely cant blame a 10 year old chinese boy trying to help out his family by working 12 hrs a day to bring home rice. That your tensioners were a little off or the tail housing was a bit off. Just so you can bitch about a $140 RTF heli that isnt perfect.

..I will add one more thing.....my WHOLE POINT IS THIS.....there is no such thing as RTF..its a total myth...there are no real helis that fly 100% out of the box...and if you can find one let us know....I'll be the first to check one out

and if you can find one let us know
To prove your point as well as answer your question. Jag hobbies offers the following service on the HBK2 and Belt CP. Adding another $10 would truely make either an RTF, out of the box heli. Personally I'd want to go over the heli myself.

Test fly
(includes all preflight, blade balancing, adjusting, and test flight)
$10.00

And rightly so
My SEV2 came "90%" assembled which was in actual fact just the head assy, I took it apart straight away and found no sign of loctite on half the screws. The fly-bar holder was also loose, it had been left loose because it bound up when the screws were tightened.
Even if there was a true RTF, I would still have to strip it down and rebuild it to ensure it had been done right.

exactly.....so a dealer is basically telling you"the heli needs to be gone over before flight"

I just dont see how you can even REMOTELY assume that a heli assembled by some unknown person(most likely not even an adult)then boxed by another, and then shipped from CHINA,then to you...is going to fly out of the box...there are SO many chances for error and damage from handling/shipping...that you would have to be nuts to take one out of the box and spool it up........suppose a spindle bolt is only 2 threads in...you spool up the heli and it comes loose at 3/4 throttle

and now that I think about it....I have had the belt come off the pulleys in flight...I just noticed a change in headspeed/response...but I landed the heli and fixed it......anyone else had the belt come off in flight and land the heli????

Many Thanks from The Baron

It has been at least several days since I posted my first topic on the Belt problem. I have upgraded to a brushless motor and did both add shims under the dampers so hopefully it helps. I have not had near as many Helis as most of you Im sure a Shogun both VI & V2 and a Blade CP which by the way I'm still flying..ok for general flight. And now the little Honey Bee King. everything I have ever owned has been completely taken apart usually before I even go out on my first trim patrol. In fact just to be on the safe side I put on the training gear for at least the first few flights even if it looks a little funny. As far as the parts for the King they are cheap and delivered to my door in Days from China or Local. To put this kind of helicopter in a class with a TEREX or one ot the others kind of putting a VW up against a Porche. Well having said that thanks to all again and lets get back into Squadron Formation

Sincerely
The Baron

Okay, so I finally got around to putting the 43t pulley on my piece of crap hbk2. It comes with two additional bearings for the tensioners, effectively lengthening them. The belt stays on track, the tail rotor is faster now due to the gearing change, and the tail now holds like glue.

Any snivelling weenies out there want to bring it on?

I also discovered a bent feathering shaft, so now I have to call my tricycle mechanic to try to recal my car so I can have it fixed.

I don't know about you guys, (Fenderstrat, DougsRC, did I miss anyone?), I don't know what kind of cheap garbage you usually buy, call me weird, but I tend to get a little bent when I buy something that is broken. Maybe I'm spoiled, but when I buy a tv/dvd combo and the dvd player stops working the next day, I don't open the tv and fix it, then sing its praises, I return it.

Just on RTFs

Had Honeybee CP2 and Walkera 60B (60B was actually my 2nd small heli after 3 nitros and an ealier circa 1997 Keyence japanese electric which eventually did fly, and looking at newer small electrics I though how bad can the walkera be, I'll prove them all wrong - only about $250Aus - well it was bad, and ended up replacing head, replacing rx and moving over to my JR tx, now not too bad except for the slow tail), and the workmates new King2, and agree all above were not RTF , but

Belt CP was. Charged battery and flew. Didn't change a thing until I crashed it going for my first inverted.

For me, really was RTF.

On the workmates king 2, I could fly it without the 43 tooth, but it was s&#t, and tail was all over the place. Put the 43 tooth on, and all was fine. So, while most helis may need some tweaking, this was clearly poor design for one that so many new people may be interested in as a first machine (so was the 60B).

Just my experience................
