I like futaba but i think the 9650 are plastic gears and i learned my lesson on the trex 450 with 3153, They break too easy, so i need metal grears.

I would go with the JR 3650s. They're the same (I'm pretty sure) as the 3400s only MGs. I have the 9650s on my 500 and have had to replace at least 1 gear during each crash. My latest hard auto caused 2 stripped servos. I am planning on changing the gears to 9257 gears which are supposed to give you the speed of the 9257s with the torque of the 9650s. That being said, I wish I had MGs. There are centering issues apparently with the HiTecs.

you can try the jr 3400g, its much faster than the 3421 at 6 volts. even faster then the futaba 9650. it doesn't have the muscle of the 3421 though. but is has a lot of speed.
you can do all that maneuvers where the heli look like is shaky and nervous, but its not, because you got speed on your servos, and this is where it shine.

3400g works great. I may go metal gears when and if I ever strip them.

I wouldn't use 3400s, I had them and they stripped in flight! 3650s now and loving it. They have 3517s coming out soon, both in plastic and MG. Same thing as the 3650s (I believe, same stats at least) but labeled as heli cyclic servos and $10 more.

metel gears for the 9650 seems to good to be true lol

buying the 3400 and then upgrading gears is silly then its about a 100 bucks a servo.

3650,s are #1 ATM
9650,2 are #2 ATM
5245mg,s #3 ATM

and are all good combo,s the jr,s are a little too pricey, the futaba,s really need the metal gears and the hitecs have case issues that have been resolved but the stores are full in stock with the old product so its tough to get the new cases.

Looks like Align has found the ultimate cyclic servo for T-rex 500: Hitec 5084MG. I am not familiar with this particular servo but a video is worth a thousand words:

Any servo can look like that on the bench. Under load is where it counts.

I am going with the INO-LAB (Korean) servos:
http://www.rchelis.co.nz/product_in...roducts_id=1224
http://www.ino-lab.co.kr/index.php?...no=338&otype=6&

Awesome servos and WAY cheap (Digital too). Our local sponsored pilot runs them on his 500 and they work very well indeed. He beats on his and has not had a failure yet.

Also, be aware that on servos as small as the 500's, metal gears can be a bad thing. The gears don't break in a crash but the servo case often does instead! On fullsize servos it isn't really an issue and I run all MG servos on my 600's but for mini servos I'll stick to Nylon or Carbonite gears. I'd rather replace an output gear than an entire case.

the 9650 you usually take out 3 or more of the nylon gears. i should have the metal gears in a few days. i dont want to boost them until i get a set installed. after i do and they work i will let people know where they are.
