Hi,

I happened to brake the flimsy GV-1 sensor case, and it will take 5-7 business days to get a new case from hobbico, which I think is insane (You always want the parts yesterday)...

Can I just mount the sensor and put heat shrink around it and still use it? Or is it sensitive to fuel/oil? I have to somehow extend the braket since the sensor won't come close to the magnet for it to work.

Any ideas?

I don't see why not. That is how we have it done on the mulitgov.

See these directions maybe it will give you some ideas.

Henrik, I have used both heat shrink as well as 5 minute epoxy and a tie wrap to reattach mine. It has worked like a champ. Still sensing at around 97% However you do it, try and keep it free of foreign particles.

Ron Lund carries the sensor cases. You'll have it in on or two days.

From the get-go, cover the lead and the sensor case in heat shrink. They'll last about forever.

I did wrap my last sensor in thread and epoxy. The part that broke was were the screws goes in....I guess you have to be careful when tightening the screws...
