Dunno why Im wanting to do this...

but Im considering going to a gasser...

Can you have fun with the 231 and a gasser? Mild 3d, nothing hard core.

Just attracted to the size....

comments?

Highly Medicated for your protection......

I have a Spectra G gasser and love it. My Nitro has been sitting on the shelf for over a year. No mess to clean off the helicopter, $4.00 a gallon for fuel, no starter (pull start), no glow driver, no smoke while flying, no smell if you use camper fuel. I have an on board generator so I never have to charge my flight pack.

Although the pucker factor is much greater since it is expensive if you crash, but what the hey, it's only money.

I think about the hereafter. I go somewhere to get something, then wonder what I'm here after ?

Sure, but I wouldn't expect the pop or agility that you get from your Synergy or Raptor though. I don't have any experience with gassers but I would bet they fly very stable just a bit heavy. Rediculously long flight times too.

Yes, what DWS6 says is also true. Heavy but stable, make great scale machines.

Sure, I have a great time with my Predator with the 231. It's certainly not as agile as a glow heli, but it's got plenty of power for mild 3d and sport flying. It's a great heli, just grab it, the transmitter, a jug a fuel and go.

I sold all my nitro machines years ago,, I have 3 Xcell 1005 SE gassers, and 2 Vario Benzin Trainers,, once you go gas,, you'll never go back!!!

It's true, there not near as nimble, but ROCK solid in the air, and they can do just about any thing you ask from them,, It's more like a waltz in the air,, instead of head banging so fast you cant really tell what's going on,,,,,, I think it looks allot better in the air myself,,, not a blur,, XGM/VGM

I want Blur! I want a heli that goes so fast that the decals falls off. Paint maybe, but I don't have the room.. . Turbine sounds good.

Then buy a Trex 450 SE,,, Don't think for one second that a gas can't be fast,, Just go up and do a nose dive then level out about 2' off the ground,,, It will make you pucker, and it will be a blur I just watch allot of 3D video's and sometimes, it's really hard to watch them,, there going in two different directions at the same time,, with a gasser,, it's more like a beautiful waltz, and you can really see what the heli is doing,, It makes you a better pilot too IMHO, cause you have to make it do it right, instead of going so fast if you make a mistake, no ones knows it because it already past that part,,, XGM/VGM

Here is my 13 lb baby ! 720 mm blades for a rotor dia of 64 inches total. Can be awesome or extremely intimidating, depending on your flight skill. The dragon canopy is to remind me that this thing can bite !!! No kids or dogs allowed when flying.

EDIT:
Forgot to mention, this is NOT your park flyer or backyard machine, unless you have 5 acres or more of clear space. So make sure you have a safe place or flying field to fly.

This is one case where "Bigger Is Better" !!

Can you say Gasser, Gasser, Gasser, Gasser, Gasser, Gasser? Its all you need to say. Flies like a real helicopter.

Personally, Gassers don't excite me. They just do not have the pop and stop of Nitro. I saw the YouTube Vid and while nice I would not consider it Hard 3D by any means. If you are after mild 3D and Sport flying then sure, a Gasser might fit the bill nicely. Hey, I even saw ASJ do mild 3D with a Bergen Turbine, so heck, a Gasser is a monster by comparison!

I'll take the Dragonfly thanks. Otherwise I'd just fly scale.
