I'm STILL flying the EP200. Working on new stuff!! I think it's easy to fly partly B/C I know I can afford to fix it , and It's less likely to be damaged in a crash.

BTW, new stuff for me is having it fly straight at me, comfortably.

HBK2 in the backyard today just before dusk.
If I had known this heli would be this smooth to fly after the metal upgrade, I would have gone for it instead of the Gaui EP100. w/ the 2200 battery, I'm flying 10-12 minutes back here at a time. Started to work on slow backwards flight w/ the HBK2. Been working on the sim on it but on the sim it takes a couple crashes before I get in the groove.

I flew 6 packs in the Rex today, 2 after work in the wind and 4 more later with mfcrash. The first 2 were in 5-10mph winds from behind me and kinda sucked. The other 4 were fun. I did something different on each. The first was spent flying around in all directions, pretty much uninhibited. The second was all hard all the time. I did some flips, a little inverted and lots of other crazy fast stuff. The third was all smooth and slow from start to finish. The forth was smooth and I finished by landing on a picnic table under some trees

I flew today and yesterday,
in 20-30mph winds

There is a point though,
when all you are really doing is fighting the wind.

But sometimes its fun to "surf"

w/ the 2200 battery, I'm flying 10-12 minutes back here at a time.
Melnic, what motor, pinion and throttle curve are you running to those flight times? With the Esky 3800 and a 10t I was only getting 8 minutes from a 2200 pack.

It's a Mystery 3000kV motor (search brushless 3000) on ebay.
13T pinion. $25 shipped for motor and ESC.
It takes a 2.3mm Pinion which I got from HeliDirect.
Motor calc came out at about 2800RPM and that's about where I fly it.

I have the Trex clone head and Exceed G2 fiberglass blades on it.
My last flight was actually almost 13 minutes but I'm sorry to say that I fully depleted the pack. My old radio I had the timer set to 10 minutes but w/ the new one I left it at 8 and then just kept flying w/o looking down at the overtime.

When I'm flying in the backyard, I'm always moving pretty slow so it's like flying forward flight at about 3-5mph where I think the helicopter is most efficient.

I used to fly my 2100s for 11-12min. Hell my current setup is good for 7min on a 1300. If I lowered the head speed a bit and didn't do any crazy stuff, I bet I could get 10min out of the 1300s ... think how long that would be on the 2200s!

I actually find that as time goes on I like the 6-7min flights. Most of what I run these days are 6min and only use about 60% of the packs. I am doing much more stressful stuff and 6min is plenty.

I wish there was a good way to compare the power consumed by each motor. I know my flight times suffer because I tend to run a higher current motor, higher headspeed and don't have the lightest HBK2 on the planet. That honor goes to Chris.

But like Chris, I target for 6-8 minute flight times to keep the brain freshest for learning new stuff.

I do not do anything other than maybe a loop or stall turn at the park w/ the HBK2. I leave the more sporty flying to the EXI's
Today it was 12mph w/ gusts to about 20, so I went to the Park. Even there I had some gusts that made me feel like I was flying a yo yo. Unfortunatly the wind was comming from the unprotected side of the field so it was swirling somewhat. Doubt it got above 10mph max there. All but 2 minutes of the 2 packs was enjoyable.

I tached my HBK2 today.
At the beginning of the flight it's 2600RPM
after 8 minutes it's 2500RPM so my RPMS are not as high as I thought.
11 minutes each flight, Both 2200 packs finished at 3.7V per cell or higher.

After 3 months of sitting on the shelf. I finally had time to introduce my humble King 2 to my DX7 and flew 4 packs today, no winds. Was a nice flight.
There was a tracking issue in the first flight. Blades were off about 1/4" but in other three packs tracking issue is gone. Still don't understand the King 2 But it was nice to see it in the air and tamed by my DX7..

Flew the Rex500 after work, the wind was at 10-15 but the wind chill was unbearable. My buddy and I flew 2 packs and called it quits when we couldn't feel our fingers anymore

Oh and I did retake the inverted hover record from my buddy again it felt like a minute inverted but was most likely less . Problem is he can take it away again any time he wants I think he toys with me a bit.

flew 5 batteries through the mcx

took the 3CH coax "ghetto copter" out in the yard and tried to fly it in 10-20mph gusts

needless to say hilarity ensued with not much flying, good thing i dont give two shakes whether the heli stays together or not

Just swapped out the 2 motors in my Lama V4 with Extreme 180's and it is so much more powerful and I gained 3 or 4 minutes flight time too!

Dah!

Duh!
Duh!

Dahhhhhh!

I flew the Raptor today,

Simply amazing.

Still need to tune my gyro settings,
and I need to bump up the throttle curve,
I had it set way too weak.

A new level of Heli Love!
