I'm with you - I didn't get a single heli-related gift - not even a gift certificate to my LHS. I thought for sure I dropped enough hints... Haven't flown in a couple weeks either...

I got a logictech 2100t and will have new servos sometime next week. I might get to fly today, it's cold, but there's no wind.

been flying at least one pack daily on the firefox. the weather today was awesome temps 53º with high winds and sprinkles. Snow and Ice melting is washing the gully's out mud everywhere. This fall and winter has been terrible for flying.

The Good.
I got a Blade MCX for Christmas, this thing is a riot in the house.

The Bad.
Had good weather today so took the 450 out for a spin, doing hammer-heads and one came out at the bottom facing me, I am still not comfortable nose in but didn't feel out of control or disoriented I crashed it non the less. Postmortem shower the ball link screw in one mixing arm had backed out about 4 turns which was enough to prevent one blade going to positive pitch. I don't know if the crash caused the screw to back out (yes it had loctite) or the other way round.

Still I got to fly the 500 as backup Heli so good day in the end.

I flew 2 packs today, doing mostly inverted 8's.

I think I might use some of my xmas money to get a new airframe for my belt, maybe an exi or mini titan. If I get the mini titan kit w/ motor/esc then I can sell an almost stock belt RTF.

The keyword here tryan is 'working'. Even when a Belt is 'working' it ain't' flying worth a pile horse manure IMO. I say sell it dan and get something that does fly. I know I'm hard on Esky stuff guys, but now I have helis that really perform and Esky products are not on that list.

Geez BOB !! Kinda harsh on the ESKY ! Your certainly entitled to your opinion. Bob, I never hear you Bash the Blade CP's they are not exactly the "highest quality choppers" either.

Yea, maybe I'm being to tough on esky stuff. They have or have had a part in most of the guys learning experience here. I'm going to ease up. The Blade CPs are a better quality product though don't you agree (as difficult as they are to fly)?

Sorry just had to do a tornado shelter thingy!!!

Bob Who you just dont understand E-Sky.

They are the best out there for anybody wanting to try this hobby out.

Your kidding right?

I started with the BCPPro and sold it to dougie he can tell ya how worn out that thing was but I practically gave it away. And still wasnt comfortable with FF. Moving the electronics to the King2 I easily learned FF and never had to wait 2 weeks for a DD tailmotor.

Not to mention we arent all into fast backwards flight. My TREX is more capable than I'll ever be. You have just been sucked up by the hardcore stickbanging 3D group. If you could just slow down you'd find these Esky products are great slow everyday relaxing fliers. And in the right hands are quite capable of mild 3D as many youtube vids have shown. Remember the vid that started it all?

I do think the quality is better on the Blade cp although more difficult to fly. You can easily get the blades in track on a Blade and sometimes never on the Belt of HBK for example. Tryan I can't even watch hardcore 3D for more than a few seconds, I just like to throw in some mild aerobatics in my flights now. Maybe it's my mechanical skills lacking in trying to get my HBK2 or Belt CP to even flip like I've seen in those vids. Mine just won't do it. I've been too hard on the esky brand though, I'll be more respectful in this forum from now on.

That's some awesome flying Didn't look like it had much power at all though. Did you see how slow the tictocs were? It still looks like it has more power than my belt though. A great pilot like that can make any heli look good.

But I agree with Tryan that the esky stuff is some of the best to learn on. But my belt cp is horribly sloppy and lacks power. I have new servos on the way from HC and helidirect has the mini titan w/ motor + esc on sale for $170. For that price I could also get a full metal exi but I'd rather go for the titan since it includes a good motor and aparently flies better than the trex.

I will agree with that BOB ! My blades always track on my Blade but not always with the King with the stock head. As far as actual quality About the same in my opinion- mostly plastic but Esky is priced better overall.

Here's more of my opinions-
The King is more stable than the Blade CP
The HBFP is very simple to fix
The Blade CP has a better head than Eskys CP2
The B400 is more reliable than the Belt CP
Only opinions
I think every Chopper has pro's and con's and yes-- even the magical TREX has problems sometime

I've seen a vid of a guy flying a Belt CP (I believe) doing most of the stunts that can be done, then at the end of the vid he takes off the canopy and shows that all the stuff is stock. I saw it but can't (and never could) get mine to be that nimble or controllable.

That's pretty impressive. Looks like he's running 12 degrees of pitch and CF paddles (but with flybar weights) but the rest is mostly stock. If I ran that much pitch I'd get too much binding and some servos would reach the ends of their travels too easily.
