DidYou Fly Today ?

Nope.

I think about the hereafter. I go somewhere to get something, then wonder what I'm here after ?

Two flights today. Its in the high 20s here and after 3 minutes, I was losing the required control of my fingers. On the second flight I tried fingerless gloves. That didn't work so well either, so I took them off and finished the flight without.

I'm not sure I'm ready to drop $60 on the thing Stocky has, can't remember the name. But if this cold lasts all winter, I might change my mind.

tx mitt is worth it IMO, I got one of these for $35: http://rcmitt.com/ I had no problems flying at -14C yesterday (there was condensation on the tx mitt window) except the esky HH gyro wasn't really doing anything at all, way worse than a stock hbfp.

I flew 4 packs today, only -3C out but the esky gyro wasn't performing any better than yesterday. So I did a lot of inverted FF and inverted hovering in all orientation, going pretty low on the nose in

I have my last exam tomorrow and then I'm free for 5 weeks so I'll actually have time to fly on weekdays

So I just got finished with tweaking,
and got the blades tracking again.

And all I have to say is this

Screw the carbons!

Compared to the Esky woodies the carbons I was flying were awesome,
but now
for the first time
I have
Align pro woodies on
and they are flipping amazing!

The heli has a whole new level of pop,
and a whole new level of pitch and roll responsiveness.

And all that from just flying in the living room.

I can't wait to fly it for real!

here let me help ya out with that beltCP If your lookin for pop quit flyin that little 3800rpm motor and go to a 450hdx. Sure better blades can make a big difference but the pop is still gonna die on a climbout until you feed that rotor mass some more power.

It depends what you want. I stepped up to the 450hdx3200 on a 12t rhino gear pinion on the king. It has a bigger mainshaft though so you may need to do a little modification.

I got this one to give me the same headspeed as the 3800 with more power.

But If it was going in a beltCP I think I would go with the more TREX stock setup 3550.

Screw the carbons
you know whats funny,I always make comments to HELIRAPTOR,then he tells me I'm crazy, his way is better,he knows what he's doing, and so on,and eventually he always ends up doing what i advised him to do weeks/months ago

buy batteries instead of bling...hhhmmm took a while but more flight time certainly is cool

work on your basics hovers, makes a big difference

work on new manuvers on the sim, then go fly, really helps

theres no need for carbons till you are really pushing the heli, align pro woods perform GREAT for 13.00 bucks a pop

Now,you have more batts, with more flight time, flying new manuvers on the sim,and using money saving blades that give good performance.and what happend HR....guess what????your flying got better, you started crashing less, and you waste less money on spares which saves money for things you need

sorry I had to

The tail holds fine in FF, it's when I try going backwards that it just blows out. In FF, the tail just follows the heli and even makes turns a little easier. Xmas is coming so won't be a problem for long

My bro got a vid of the flight but it turned out really blurry for some reason so I didn't bother uploading it. I should have time for a lot more flying after tomorrow so I'll try and get some more vids up.

Me and my art teacher have been going around like this too.

Hell anyone who has ever advised me on anything has gone round with me like this.

But you know what,
Even though I eventually come around to the sage advice,
when someone asks me why I am doing it the way I am doing it

I can say It's not because someone told me to

I can say I'm doing it that way

Because I know its the right way

ok first,DAN,you have more ba##s than me,I dont know if I would flip the heli over knowing the gyro is blowing out,but I guess I keeps you on your toesand if you dont crash,it will only make you a better pilot

HR,think of how much money and time you would save if you started listening to good advise and taking it right away instead of learning everything the hard way

Now that I think about it, the gyro is holding ok during flips and doesn't seem to really have any problems with fast pitch changes. It just won't hold while going backwards and doesn't piro well either. Also the tail feels really loose in a hover, all that slop is definately not helping.

I figure it'll teach me really good rudder control
