I powered up my radio in turbine mechs for the first time since shutting them down early Oct and found the JR 8311 digital servos humming a bunch, to the point it sounded like an old JR 120 ball bearing gyro running in the mechs. I had the front cowl off because I was planning to change out a gyro and at first could not tell were the noise was coming from as it never made this noise before. I popped the link from elevator control link from servo to swash plate off and swash plate jumped up by half a ball diameter and humming quit. Mechs are Jetcat HP5, servos mounted in the side frame version, using 45 degrees swash timing via Helitronix mixer. I raised and lowered the swash plate with this link removed and the error it was off was the same from low to high stick, half a ball, center of ball was at lower edge of link hole and remained there through the travel. Swash is level front to back and left to right with this link removed and if I snap it back on front is high by that half a ball distance and loud hum returned. Is it possible after being powered down for 6 months the digital servo center defaulted back to zero or some thing? I am puzzled and concerned by this as my last flights of the year end of last summer were perfect and only reason I had to retire model for the season and have not had it out is because my kerostart plug failed and Jetcat did not have any at the time until it got to cold to fly here for my liking. Has any one ever heard of this before or any idea what could have caused this??
