My Spectra-G is in desperate need of a scale fuselage. I am leaning much more heavily toward a civilian/corporate machine rather than a military version. Yes, the obvious military choice would be the IndyHelis Apache, which is unquestionably an awesome machine and is built around the Spectra mechanics. Also, not that a 430/222/Agusta/S76 wouldn't be a nice project, I would prefer to stay simple and go with a traditional skid style landing gear machine (Long Ranger, 407, 412 for example).

My ultimate desire would be to do a 100% true to scale Bell 407 but even so, the only alternative out there is the Starwood Models 407. What little I know about it is that it is a "craftsman's kit" (what non-ARF fuse isn't). I also heard something about it being a "German designed 407" or a "German's perspective of a 407". I have no idea if that is true or really even what it means so take those statements with a few grains of salt. If the Starwood is the way and only the way to go then so be it. I wish there were some guys out there that have built one and could comment.

I realize I am in somewhat of a tough situation primarily due to the height of the Spectra mechanics. The height puts the swashplate and t/r drive exit high up in the fuse making it difficult to fit most scale bodies. Anyway, if someone, anyone can provide some additional information and possible alternatives to my situation then please let me know. I am not opposed to making the necessary modifications to the mechanics in order to make things fit.

Thanks

that spectra wasnt built with the ability to fit a fuse in mind i dont imagine. just forward of the main mast is all that servo arangement which that alone makes it sorta fuselage unfriendly. i think you would have good luck with the bigger fuses like those from vario and graupner, otherwise some servo rearranging may be necessary.

drive a rotary, fly a rotorcraft
