It's nice to know I'm not alone in my sickness. I spent about $12,000.00 last year on heli stuff. I don't understand what it is about these silly toys that is so addicting. To make matters worse, there is a heli shop that just opened 10min from my house.

SHUT UP AND FLY!!!!

It is a problem.

I have seen small hobby shops go bust because the owner kept using all the stock to keep airbourne.

My last heli cost 5 times what my car cost!

I havn't spent any on helis for a year and a hlaf now but I keep visitihng the Quick UK (.eu) website and thinking hmmmmmmmm.

I test fly for work but it's not like flying your own. Last heli (In my gallery) only ever had one crash in one year and that was from a bad regulator. I hammered it every weekend. Then sold it to fly around the world. Can't wait to build another one but I keep saying.... how can I justify that much money on one toy no-one else cares about!

Helis are a bad drug. I wanted to start a thread like that but didn't want to kill-off newbs. I have seen many people get into a bad way becasue they have no spare cash!

I am kind of new to helis (6months), I do feel it is addicting though, at night when my wife reads her magazines in bed, I am flying the sim on my laptop next to her, she says are you going to play that thing all night or play me? I say 5 more min. honey, then I realize 2 hours go by and she is out cold.

They longer you stay with the hobby the worse it gets. Soon you'll be saying "I'm just going to the field for an hour or so.", then 5 hours later when you come home....

"I'm a dirt torpedo!"

I think is not just the money or how many helis you have...Is all the surrounding in this hobby, have a nice day in he country side with your pals, breathing clean air with some nitro smell sometimes jumy!, giving and receiving tips, looking what's new, improving your skills..etc. I am very happy and satisfy with all these details.

Regards,
Gustavo

My wife mentioned that she should`nt go with me to fun flys or shows anymore. I spend more money with her there because she always says "That is real cool you should buy it!" So I don`t want to be a bad husband and be accused of never doing what she tells me to do.
I guess its kind of like 2 drunks walking past a bar.
