Hi everyone,
The JR manuals suggest using JB Weld to cement stuff together. JB Weld is pretty rare (if it even exists!) here in New Zealand, what is a more readily available alternative?

Thanks,
Si

JB Weld

I would just use 30minute epoxy. It is very high strength. Depends what you are glueing I suppose. From the looks of things JB Weld is just a common high strength all purpose glue.

PS What have ya broken now :-)

Thanks Bob, that's what I'll get I think. Haven't broken anything just yet (touch wood), but I reckon that's good stuff to have on hand just in case....

Where you been lately? Why didn't you come down with Neil P for the Trentham event? Was great fun!

G'day mate. Found & bought some JB Weld for the first time ever! Pretty tough, but not that tough! Otherwise I use 30min Zap Z-Poxy.

JB weld is a high temp epoxy. Your clutch can get pretty warm sometimes that is why JB weld is recommended for clutch liner. Good luck.

Do you have a Home Depot where you live? They would have it.

You could also go to an auto store and look for products advertised as "liquid steel". They're pretty close.

METALSET

I once purchased a similar product called "Metalset" at an aircraft suppy house. I was 2 part like JB and the same color. It might have been repackaged JB or JB is repackaged Metalset. It worked the same.

I've used 5 min 2 part epoxy (cartell in two tubes from the wharehouse at around $2.50) as exhaust gasket and it works great, takes about 1/4-1/2 hr till you can fly and that would be pretty hot, current seal been going for over 50 tanks and to hold my gv1 magnets in the fan the magnets I left for 24 hrs.
the 30 min stuff (same place n' price) sets a little harder but definitly overnight.

Regards Don
