is this "lethal'' to my brand new blades? i was doing low inverted hover and i heard a hit, i think a pebble smacked the blade. it is maybe 2mm across and is only a chip off... do i have to trash my brand new rotortechs?

I flew a set of V's that had been in 4-5 crashes total and the root end was badly damaged where the blade grip would contact the trailing edge. I just cut off the bad and CA. Put a little CA on it. First twist the blade to see if opens up or is just a chip. If your not comfortable with them it's time for new blades.

No Big Deal

Wouldn't worry none. Just fly them until they EXPLODE!!

BTW, uh, what did the instructions that came with the blades say?

Check your machine over

From the looks of the damage. I'd say it wasn't a pebble.

It looks more like a bolt fell off and went through the blades. Look closely at the picture. The head hit the trailing edge of the blade and the other marks look a lot like threads from the shank of the bolt.

Check over the entire machine to see if any are missing. After all it is a Century heli...you're probably missing a few.

Just my observations.

I like the advice to fly them until they explode. Just get it on tape so we can all see.

Good call helifreak,

I didn't notice that at first. By measuring the length of the marks on the blade, he ought to be able to tell quickly which bolt it was.
