Yesterday I told myself: Tomorrow your are going to make your first loop.

Today, I was afraid to make it. Damn!

Tomorrow, maybe.

Ace.

PD: I just need to tell someone that I was afraid to make my first loop.

loop

i don't think it'll be too hard, just had to pull neg , or at least
center throttle stick to keep head speed up (thats what killed me.)
almost cleared the ground!! anyway do you have someone experienced to fly with? i ya do ask them to talk ya through
what ya are tryin to do. (if i'd waited for a bud to come over before i tried he would have told me to pull some neg at the top of the loop)
im gonna try again soon as i get it back together.

First loop

When I did my first loop I almost crashed.
I was so nervous that I forgot to give it 0 or neg. pitch at the top of the loop. Good thing I was real high up.
And having it in idle up doesn't hurt either.

ace the easiest way to do your first loop is to just get a good head of speed up and do an airplane loop . speed is your friend . most guys worry so much about playing with the collective that they get half way through and forget to keep the back cyclic in they back off and then dont get it back in intime to finish . start high go fast and pull full back cyclic in and hold it until you get to the bottom . dont jerk it back all of a sudden just pull it all in smoothly. use the first 1/4 of the loop to pull it in and release it at the bottom just like and airplane loop. you can back off the clollective a little if you want to but make sure that it is all back in at the bottom. the first one is the worst after that you will know what to expect and will have time to play with the collective more. just remember that you willl always need all the colllective at the bottom . the first loop is mostly a mental block to do but we all have been there done that . just think next is the roll my first was a giant Z bend in the sky . WOW what a ride . good luck and good looping

tom
P.S. you should have an idleup set up to do this

Ace,

I know the feeling
make sure you have your pattern of flying up high and you are able to place the heli in a good position/speed before attempting a loop.
Your first loops should be done into the wind, but not if it's really windy
no need to complicate matters, with high winds.
Of course as mentioned before have your idle up set to keep headspeed up to give you control and power.
After you can do this , add collective, pull up into a climb and feed
in the elevator, but easy, as the heli goes over, less collective but don't
slam it neg just less near zero or so, and hold elevator till she comes around, be ready to add collective back in and fly away.
This will give a somewhat small loop, but it will be inverted for a shorter
period of time, later play and increase the size and duration.
But for now you just want to make it through the loop, afterwards make it a point to settle your nerves before trying another, and celebrate

As Howard has said above, the entrance into the loop is the most important thing.
If your ready to do a loop, you'll already know what to do..........

But if you enter it slightly wonky, the heli will start to cork-screw as it goes inverted, your brain will say 'woah, i've never seen this postion before', and will you enter brain fade mode.

hit the entry right, and the loop will go along really nicely!!!!!!!

I did my first loop not too long ago and now i cant stop . Actually mine was more of a flip. I think they are easier. I just got some altitude, make sure its far enough out so its not over your head, then just pulll back on the elevator. Hold it and give it some negative as it gets upsidedown. Then just hang on and give it some positive as it starts to get right side up. You shouldnt loose too much altitude.

Ended up being WAY easier than I ever though it would be.
Good Luck,
Mike
