First, which version of windows media player do you have?

Second, you can goto microsoft.com and get the codec's

But, WMP has a built in codec downloader, click options in the drop downs. Set it to download automatically.

This will get you started

Yes, you can upgrade just about any Microsoft product. Again, goto
Microsoft.com and have a look.

Also, check out http://www.download.com
do a search for what you want and see how that turns out.

codecs are the lesser known, software that keeps changing.

Windows 2000 is an upgraded version of NT so I know that there is a patch or upgrade to make your software play the video. I know this is aggrevating. I just recently went throught a fight to get a codec for div4.

Takes a bit of looking to get some things. Don't for get about "Quick time".

You'll need this someday. Its Apple's version of WMP. Good luck

Microsoft indicates their version 9 software will not run on NT or 95

Good luck.
