same here

heard of problems with "other" RX as hitec.
I fly mostly using Hitec RX and even single conv. GWS- pico - not even single glitch.

Problems???

The only problem with this radio is you need to constantly tell others "Don't be jealous!!!"

Problem with RX's

I have heard of problems running the Syn. receivers in heli's. Something to do with the vibration changing the tuning and switching channels but the problem was with the receivers not the Transmitter with a Syn. module. I know there are some people running them without problems but I know of several crashes because of them.

The synth module is incompatible with some 3rd party receivers. I believe only one model of the FMA receivers works correctly with the synth module.

"The synth module is incompatible with some 3rd party receivers. I believe only one model of the FMA receivers works correctly with the synth module."

i really wonder where u take this info from ....?

Like i said , i'm using mostly 3rd party RX , not even a glitch.

so easy to start a rumor ....and so difficult to fix it

Yes, for the uninformed it's easy to start a rumor and spread mis-information.

Search ezonemag.com, there are several references to the incompatibilities with the synth module.

I tried to buy an FMA RX at the FMA booth last month at the WRAM show. FMA told me directly about the incompatibility with their RXs and the synth module.

The following is a response from Gary Wright when asked what RXs he uses with his synth module:

"129DP's, 127DF's, 148 and 149 DP, (I think those are the correct numbers) Futaba syntehsised rx, hitec 555, hitec superslim. I'm forced to use the hitec's in some things simply due to size. I have quite a few of the little 6 gram recievers,.. and I have a standard non-synth module I use with them. for some reason they won't work with the synth module. Also,.. the futaba synth recievers i don't trust in helicopters (extremely noisy environment), but i use them in planes,.. and even electric planes give no problem with them,.. so e-flight is apparently less "noisy" than a metal, glow heli ."

You can read the thread here:

So danny_isr, I take it you know more than Gary Wright?

synth

" I have quite a few of the little 6 gram recievers" i dont know what RX he is talking about. he didnt specify.
He did say he using Hitecs. so am i . works great.
I have expirience with many Hitecs and GWS's.
I didnt say i tested all the RX in the world with the synth module.
I'm sure you can find here and there RX that wont work with the regual module either ...so ?

About FMA ...good luck with their pruducts ....

And no i didnt say i know better then "Gary Wright"

I'm not using FMA. I was going to buy one so I asked if it worked with the Futaba synth module. FMA was the one that told me that it wouldn't work so I didn't buy it.

I posted this because FMA is a pretty popular RX.

My understanding is that a while back Hitec specifically updated their RXs to make them compatible with the synth module (smart marketing).

Problems with the 9ZHPS???

I noticed some inconsistencies when operating my PCM 9Z several years ago on an airplane. The servos travel sometimes was "notchy". I ended up replacing the synthesizer with a new one and all is well now.

The synthesizer module was 5 - 6 years old at the time and never gave me any trouble during those years. I actually received the syn module before the 9Z back in 1993!

The Futaba 9ZHPS is still the best!!!

I use the 9Z synth module and the synth 309 receiver in my Fury Extreme, no problems at all. Just wrap it in foam to isolate vibes and you're good to go. Sure makes snagging a frequency at a busy field quite easy.

I just wish

I just wish the model would remeber the channel it is on. Meaning if I had a reciever on a different channel in each machine. that all I had to do in the TX is call up the machine and it's on that channel. But instead I have to switch screens and select a different channel. That's a stupid bit of programming.

Volkul, it may be stupid programming, but it's required by the FAI rules and that's why it's done.

Search RR, I believe there's and excellent post from DavidH on the subject and the specifics on the FAI rule.

9Z Synthesized

I just picked up some Berg receivers and the instructions specifically say they will not work with the Futaba Synthesized RF module. Bob
