I just got my new 39. I was checking behind the backplate and removing the head for any signs of debris. It was clean, when I began reinstalling the head I noticed that it is longer on one side than the other. Stupid me, I was in a hurry and neglected to mark the front of the head. Can somebody please tell me which direction the longer edge of the head is supposed to face. Thanks in advance!!

I don't have access to mine at the moment and could be off here but I don't think it makes any difference mechanically. For cooling however it would make sense to put the largest part of the heatsink in the front where the air from the fan is the strongest. Again, I could be wrong on this and hope that someone with more knowledge on the subject will chime in.

Take care,
Joe

It probably doesn't matter much but the wider part goes to the rear.

On mine there is a small shallow hole on the chamber side which denotes forward in much the same way as the one on the piston crown. but for the record its longest end to the rear of the engine or bottom as installed in the heli (assuming it a Caliber 30)
