well flew the sceadu today again. wind was pretty high today bout 10 - 12 knts and holy crap these things are a handful when you first start out!!! pretty strange how they react to gusts and minor wind speed variations.. definatly had my hands full trying to hold a hover... gust of wind and it climbs like a banshee.. drop the collective and it starts to hang there till the wind dies then it wants to fall like rock... and gotta catch it. hehehehe but got 4 flights and no damage so im happy.. any tips for the newbie when dealing with wind???

Generally you want an elevated main rotor RPM, and hover a tad higher than usual; as a sudden loss of altitude in gusty conditions may prove distasteful.

10-12 knots is actually pretty reasonable. Wait till you try 20.
