How many degrees does each servo travel on a Fury to go from -10 to +10?

And how many degrees on a Freya?

I am trying to figure out why the collective on a Fury is soo much more responsive than the freya.

I upgraded to a DS8311 on the collective of my Freya and it still does not feel as snappy as I would like.

And YES I do realize there is a weight difference between the 2 birds.

With my DS8311 on the collective of my Freya could I move the ball in farther on the collective arm and take advantage of it's torque to get some more speed? It stands to reason that if I modify it so that the servo has to move fewer degrees that the time necessary to change from -10 to +10 degrees would decrease.

I have seen a Freya with SWM fly and it did look more responsive but I do NOT wish to spend $300 on that upgrade.

No response huh? Maybe I should have taken a poll about what you are having for lunch.

How about you'r ATV'S or endpoints for your Fury, that will give me the info I want.

I don't have any ECCPM heli myself but I think that the standard ATV for all channels in ECCPM mode is around 60%.

You could try to setup your Freya's collective channel with +-60% ATV and lengthen the servoarm untill you get +-10 degrees of pitch. Then try it and come back later and tell us all how it worked.

I was thinking about moving the ball in on the collective arm rather than a longer servo arm as the servo arm is already longish.

I wonder if the torque output of one DS8311 will be adequate to limit the ATV's soo much and still get the same pitch range?

It seems that reason the ECCPM machines can limit their ATV's to 60% and get away with it is that the combined torque of even 3 9202's or 4131's is still around 200 In/Oz.

Would the collective on a Fury with three 40 In/OZ servos still be snappy? Obviousely that would not be a good idea, but I am speaking theoretically here.

hi there,

i can only give you info. for a freya.

with servo at 0 degrees ( all linkages at right angles ) it rotates 45 degrees each way to give + / - 10 degrees.

i can actually get + / - 12 degrees on my freya.

i run a 9151, but ccpm will be quicker because the collective load is shared.

augusto says that the 9350 (?) makes the freya feel like a ccpm but then 9350 is twice as quick as a 9151, for a price !
