Anyone have any suggestions other than replace the gears? The servo is fine, but I managed to strip the hole for the screw that secures the servo horn.

The gearset is only $7.

Unless you can't get one in time, I'd just buy the whole gear set.

In the meantime you could glue it all together and cut it apart when you get the new gears.

As far as the gear sets go, looks like they are different, as the Futaba part #'s are different. Gear sets: FUTM3444 FGS9252 - S9252
FUTM3445 FGS9253 - S9253
You might throw a call off to Futaba service and ask them. Good luck!

well i can't get in time. What do you mean glue....glue the servo horn to the output shaft?

I am thinking about counting the teeth on the 9253 and see if my 9252 output gear will work. I have gear sets for the 9252.

All you need to do is put some CA in the screw hole and insert the screw. It'll stay on till you take it off.

Glue the horn, or just glue the screw in place.

He's saying to put some glue, like epoxy into the servo horn, and push it onto the servo(output shaft), and then its permanent. Then when you get the new gearset just cut the servo horn off, and replace.

Another option is to find a slightly larger screw, and use that in place of the standard screw. Daz...

You can also run a 3mm tap in there. Don't go too deep. It works beautifully.

I'd use epoxy in the screw hole and not CA.
