Im building a new nexus kit , the main gear and pinion are way too tight, they even make a grinding noise when you turn them. I didn't use any shims under the the lower ball bearing case for backlash. The pinion gear bearing is seated as far back as it will go, and is centered in the main gear. The main gear housing is tight too the main gear and the lower bearing support can't go any lower. Does anyone know what would cause this? Thanks, Daniel

The Nexus was my first heli. It had the same problem. There were a few things I did to make it a little smoother. I ground a bit of material off the back side of the T/R pinion so I could slide it back a bit further. I also enlarged the holes on the frame ever so slightly at the lower main shaft bearing block, also the holes were the clutch bell assembly is attached and lastly at the engine mount. I was able to get some adjustability from this. I got it acceptable but not silky smooth.

Hope this helps
