Thanks for the feedback.

I'm hoping to fly this weekend. The weather report is calling for some warmer temperatures.

It's been quite cold lately here in the great white north. Been around -20 degrees celcius lately.

I'll let you know how things go, I'm quit excited. Looks like this heli will work out quite well.

I'm excited for you! The canapy scheme is great. I got my Falcon flying on Sunday and began the tuning and breaking in. I'm looking forward to a great season of flying. Good luck!

The connectors used for the antenna tubes are actually Miniature Aircraft Ball links pressed into medium fuel tubing (dubro blue). This set-up works really well, hold great with no problems.

See the attached picture for a closer look.

The clear used is an automotive 2 part acrylic clearcoat.

It's actually made in Germany and shipped to South America where it is packaged under the name "Bernardo Ecenarro"

http://www.bernardoecenarro.com

It's is very economical at around $40.00 CDN for 1 litre of part 1 base and 500 ml of part 2.

It works very well, I mixed up about 4 ounces (with reducer) and sprayed it with my airbrush with very good results.

It cover very nicely dries to the touch in about 45 minutes and completly hardens within 3 hours (24hours to be safe). 30% Coolpwer poured over a test peice does not damage it.

I asked the guy at the body shop supply store here in Calgary where I got this stuff, what he thought of it because I asked for PPG clear, he told me this line is out selling all other lines by about 5 to 1 this includes PPG products. He said that they would be happy to sell me the PPG clear for about $ 150.00. They also have a body shop connected to the store and they use this product exclusively but will use other lines when requested.

Does anyone know if Krylon crystal clear coat is fuel proof? Im only a can sprayer at the moment. I have an airbrush coming unless someone wants to trade it for the Century painted fiberglass canopy and fin set. It's an Iwata HP c

Nice Job

Looks Great Jon,

I've been watching the weather channel and Calgary has been getting some real cold weather. Wish you luck on the weekend.

What did you use for the Neon colors?

How do you have it equiped?

Hi Phil,

Is used adheshion promoter before a couple of coats of flexible automobile bumper primer.

I then used Faskolor Paint for Lexan Car bodies (water-based) for the White base coat and the Fasflourescent Red and Fasflourescent Yellow paint sparyed on with my airbrush.

You can also get this paint under the name Createx Auto Air Sign & Auto Airbrush paint.

The nice thing about using the water-based paint after the primer coat is that if you mesh it up you just wash it off in the shower and start over. Very easy to use and very easy to clean up.

It's a little dull until you get the clear-coat on. But after that it looks great.

I'm using the OS50 SXH with the KSJ 50 sized muffler, GY401/9253 and Airtronics 94731 contest servos.

I havent yet installed the driven tail, I am going to try it without it to see how much of a difference it really makes.

Should be a sweet machine in the air, I'm really looking forward to flying it.

I'l let you know how things go.

Thanks.

John.

John,
Your own your way now! I don't know your heli experience but I am almost 100% sure that you will LOVE the Raven 50. I sure love mine and it was a Falcon SE V2 before.

I have been painting some canopies lately and have a tip for you if your interested. I am shooting some paint from House of Kolors. You can buy it from www.innate.com in small quanitites and the support from Nate is excellent. He can set you up with the whole line for a VERY reasonable price and it includes the clear. Before I started using the HOK paints I bought some PPG Omni AU clear coat. This stuff is underpriced! After a lot of research and talking to some guys that paint jets that is what is recommended. You might want to look into it!

The canopy is VERY visible. But, I hate clear windshields. If you want you could tint the windshield with Pactra "Window Tint". Just wash the windshield with soap and water and shoot two light coats to the underside. On my last effort I did three coats and it looks blacked out but actually on the bench you can still see in:
