Hahaha you should see me sitting in front of my computer laughing for myself!!

Theres an "old" man at our field, I guess he nevr flown anything, he´s just there to see and talk to some ppl all summer, but he suggested a that the main gear on a Nexus should be done out of brass, so I wouldn´t break so easy when for ex. the tail accidently hit the ground.

And then he always sounds like "Hupp hupp.. hupp hupp..."

So I guess you can understand me and KingHippos feeling when we crash and he is around making weird sounds and suggest rather stupid things.

And another plank flier was coming in for landing at appr. 1-2m he applied full dive... The plane was a mess - but afterwards he claimed that the engine hade the wrong angle (he had been trying to angle the engine in lots of different positions during the summer)

And when I dumb thumb and hovered nose in over my head and got confused when I turned around a saw it again, almost crashing with KingHippo and then it went down in the dirt - they all asked:
"-Was a radio glitch, did the engine die...?"
That says a lot of them, cant confess for others that it was their own fault that made their plane/heli crash!

'Hm now I just have to find out where to connect the GV1 sensor to the Jazz80 ESC.

Dave,

And now you have a pleasure to fly alone ...well let's say almost alone.

What comes to AtalaRC, I believe it imports the Hirobo stuff straight from the factory...

Hi Jarno, well I now have a friend to fly with, so the pleasure is greater. I know Atala have good prices on Hirobo, I just can't bring myself to buy one! I used to live near the Hirobo importer & shop in England (Dave Niemans') in the 80s and got my first heli there (a 555), but for some reason I don't want to be the same as every other heli flier in Finland and have a Freya!

Maybe I should get myself up to Tampere sometime and get Seppo to talk me into one!

Don't do it! I've had JR and Robbe helis too and I still miss my Futura SE. Some time in the future I'll swap back to Robbe, but don't know when yet...

I think it really has some good points that everyone here has got the same brand, BUT it really gets boring too! I wish we had more brands around here.

Jarno, not sure if you've seen this, most of the helis at the fly.in at Vesivehmaa last September. Mostly Hirobo, there is a Raptor 50 and a Skyfox toward the right of the pic, and a strange English bloke in a blue jacket with a red neckstrap third from the right behind the helis!

Yep, I've seen it. Unfortunately I missed that meeting. If I remember right, I crashed just before the meeting and couldn't get spares in time. I used to fly the R60 those days

You should have been there, another Raptor would've helped even the balance! There was mine and one other, a 30.

Ohh...not really a sci-fi buff, so it all went over my head! Is that what all that 'dark side' business is about in the Century camp? I thought they were just a bit odd

Jarno, I didn't count the engines, but quite a few YS, I think, and a surprising amount of 30% fuel, considering the cost of the stuff over here!

I was talking with Seppo from Atala at a small model show in Lahti in November and he showed me some pics of a new version of the Freya that is coming soon, about 1000€ with a metal head? Maybe it's already around, I don't keep up with Hirobo news, can't check everything!

Jarno, my main contact with the competition heli scene is through Jari Ketoluoto in Lahti, I see him now and then. I fly his old Ergo! I know he uses Freya EX and YS engines.
