hi there

i had the gy401 limit set to 100. delay set to zero on a 9253.

with this gear installed on my freya, i have had to reduce my epa to 65% on my rd6000 so that the tail linkage does not bind.

can anyone comment on this ?
.

if your goal is to not have any binding
at L/R limit, you must use the LIMIT on the
401 to control that. You cannot control
it via the transmitter.

That is correct. I have the same setup. Use the epa on the radio to control the piro rate and the limit on the gyro pot to limit travel and prevent binding.

hi there

thank you for clearing up that issue.

it says in the instructions that if you have the limit set too low then it affects the performance of the gyro.......... how low is too low ?

Currently my setup has the gyro at 60% gain in all modes. Delay is at zero. EPA is 100% and the limit pot on the gyro is at 100%. This gives me a decent piro rate, good hold with no wagging in hover of FF and no binding with full left or right rudder. The gyro will not be in Heading hold (HH) mode if the gain in your radio is set below 50% and anything above is HH. With the RD 6000 in order to flip from HH to non-HH just program one of your flight modes with gain less than 50% and another above and switch between them. Personally I fly everything in HH mode and love it. Put the limit pot on the gyro at 100% and give full left and right rudder. If you have any binding you can gradually lower the pot until it clears this up. Hopefully this helps.

hi there greg

sorry to be a pain in the ass.

on my csm 400 gyro, you have to enter a negative number so that the gyro engages heading hold.

this seems to work on my gy401 as well ?!?!?!

thats odd, and just because of that yes you are a pain in the a$$!!

No really...I have not heard of that, but I am not at all familiar with the csm 400. As for the 401 I thought you had to have it above 50% as per the instructions. Do you have the gyro reversed? I don't know if this sounds right, can anyone else...???
