My question goes out to those that are currently using the C-Spec. What nitro fuel are you using? For those using 30%, do you need a perry pump? Have you added any head shims? The reason, I ask is, I have a regular OS 91, and the only way I was able to get it to run decently was to use a Perry Pump, and an extra head shim. I'm hoping that the C-Spec won't need all this extra stuff ..

I don't think a pump is needed. So far mine has run great. I am only using 15% though.
I haven't seen a c-spec using a pump yet. I can't say about the shims. If I had to guess I would say it will run fine on 30% without adding anything.

To be fair, I must say that Russ had previously been flying the OS91 with the Hatori SB-15 and no Perry Pump.

I'm flying that same setup now, just a little richer than normal so it doesn't get to lean at the end of the tank. Not as consistent as some of those I've seen with the Perry Pump, but it still runs fine.

on my c-spec I use 20% nitro with a perry pump and no head shims. It runs very strong and will take a ys91 in an all out race. the gear ratio I am using in my x-spec is 7.91:1. hope this helps

Gravity

Dustin,
By the way, gravity is NEGATIVE 9.81m/sec sqd
The only problem I can find with the YS 91 is getting them.

Gordie,
You math professors are always trying to rain on my parade. I stand corrected but, we all know which direction the acceleration is! Scott, Doug, and myself are looking forward to the clinic that you are having in April. I will be there unless my exams get in the way.

I'm running a C-Spec in a Fury Extreme (8.18) with 15% WildCat Heli Fuel, no pump, a header tank, muffler pressure w/ check valve and a Dynamite HiFlow Fuel Filter with large ID fuel lines.

Runs pretty damn good...
