You are not getting responses because this topic has been virtually talked to death. Please do a search and read past postings.

I run the engine as it came from the factory. Others have chosen to install shims. The common thought is that if you want to run lo nitro fuel, use it as it came; if hi nitro put in a shim.

Sharam..

Sharam,
I'm asking that because i have one Webra 91 with one shim from factory and i have a friend with another Webra 91 without shims.
So what is my question, does Webra send some motors with and other without shims?
We had open both motors when they´re brand new in box.
You guys open yours to check it out???
And i know this motor has been taked to death, but this is a curious of mine.
Thanks Sharam....

I could be wrong but......

I seem to remember a post by someone on runryder who said that prior to shipment Webra measures airflow through the carb and compression or some other parameters and then adjust the engine head up or down with shims to achieve the correct numbers. Therefore, it is possible to get engines that have or don't have shims.

I guess you can write Webra and ask them. They are very good about replying to emails. I run mine as it came with 5% an Enya 3 plug. Added an MC Carb recently. Engine runs very well.

There is no answer to your question since there are too many parameters that can affect the deck height of your engine.

What you must do is LISTEN to your engine and MONITOR the smoke trail.

DON`T try to copy the settings from anyone.
You should consider your engine and its parameters (fuel, plug, pipe...)as unique.

Sharam....

Hi Luciano,

This is normal by combustion engines world wide. Engine producer which take care
that the engine have a right compression, control the distance between cylinder head
and piston in top. If the distance is too small need the engine 1 or 2 head shim.

Webra make here adjustment for a fuel with 0 % until 15% nitro, if there are a fuel with up
of 15% take 1 shim (or 1 shim more) between cyl. head and liner. Up of 30% we recommend
1 sometime 2 headshims.

No different in the technology - Blackhead comes from Horizon/USA.

Fuel is O.K., but you need not really 15% Nitro 10 - 12,5% is enough.

Don't change anything.

Best regards - Yours WEBRA-Service

Betreff: Webra 91 heli version ???

Hi Guys,
I'm curious about one thing in this motor, i just bought one Webra 91 heli version and a guy at the field bought another one, When we open the head of both we saw the my motor has a shim and my friend's motor doesn't have a shim.
So my question is, there is some motor with shims and another ones without shims, what's the difference between them.
And other question, what's the difference between the black head and the aluminum color head...??
I want use this motor with 15% nitro(wildcat) 18% oil, do you think i need to use or not to use this shim???

My best regards...
Luciano
