What better way to express how great this hobby is. I took this picture of Mark and his son this weekend. My son is only 19 months old and I hope that in a few years this can be he and I.

I don't know, I was taking the picture. We had a plank at our heli field and Mark took his son up. It still makes for a good shot. He will be flying heli's in no time.

Great picture. This is how we keep the hobby going. We hand it down to your kids if we can. If the kids are doing this they are not in trouble.

If you want to get them involved, get them building, nothing excites a child's imagine as much as seeing the results of their own work in the air.

Naomi, the girls (I have another two years older than the one in the pic) like to come flying when they are here (they live in England ) and both have built more free-flight models; the boy is now 14 and has a 1½ metre RC glider that he built and covered himself. He wasn't interested in an RTF, good lad!

Splendid! Dave, it's ashamed the other one in U.K. is she by any chance comiing back to finland?.. I really hate to see family splits apart. They built their own free flight models.. wow.. that's cool. wished I was able to built that when i was at that age. .. Excellent!

Yep, you got to start them out right, Samuel was 18 months here. He wouldn't leave me alone until I let him help, he grabbed a 5mm wrench and went at it.

I have let him play on the simulator some, he laughs everytime he crashes, sure wish I had that attitude!!!

Naomi, both of my girls live with their mother in England, but they come here two or three times a year. They get to see two very different ways of life, I miss them but I don't think they are really suffering, they enjoy the variety!

Some of the best memories my son and I have are flying together and building models .Every flyer I know that started flying with their parents tell me the same thing . I really like to see kids and their dads flying ..I dont think I have ever met a bad kid at the flying field ..Shame its not that way everywhere..

That is exactly how I started. Dad at my side coaching me along. Building stick and tissue kits when RC was out of my price range.
Well, it comes full circle. I am teaching my dad the finer points of rotor-wing dynamics. He taught me how to build and fly fixed wings and now I'm teaching him how to fly helis. Isn't this how evolution is supposed to work?

A good example of this is the Szabos. Alan Szabo Sr., Alan Szabo Jr., and Danny Szabo go flying together all the time. Great family.
