Hey John

I dont get your comments, homeowners will cover your for personal use not a business. I have contacted 6 different companies that write homeowners including mine. It would be much more realistic for someone who does not sell the hardware to provide insurance existance. I got a letter from the AOPA they have been slammed with requests for insurance from this interest, I have a letter from the AMA they have been slammed with the same. These are two premier organizations representing the recreational flyer full scale and model aircraft. Dave Brown who is president of the AMA states the same good luck finding coverage. I have flown R/C planks for 25 years and rotary for over 15, I have flown competition and exhibition I soon expect my turbine certificate for rotary. No potential insurer has even cared enough to ask for qualifications of myself or my other associate pilots, as soon as they hear R/C Helicam I almost get knocked over by the brezze from the door slamming in my face. Sure TV stations and government can utilize this with their budget and indemnity. What about those who want to utilize their skills and ambition to make a few $$ doing something that they enjoy and produce someting to take pride in, are they going to be able to take the risk and fly without coverage or will they be able to afford coverage through a excess lines company who thrive on the un-insurable? Sure I can understand the concerns over unskilled operators and I am aware that one bad apple, "well you know" but if its available it should be out there for someone to quote and to see a declaration page for the coverages.

Country Companies Insurance

Country Companies has agreed to pay $6.3 million to settle a class action lawsuit that alleges the insurer used inferior-quality auto parts to repair policyholders' vehicles.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

About 60,000 current and former Country Companies policyholders will receive about $60 to $75 each.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The lawsuit, which was filed in October 1999 in Marion County Superior Court, Salem, Ill., accused Country Companies of "breach of contract" by repairing policyholders' vehicles with non-Original Equipment Manufacturer (non-OEM) parts, also referred to as "aftermarket parts." The insurer's auto policies stated that the insurer would use parts of "like kind and quality" for repairs. The plaintiffs contended that non-OEM parts did not meet this standard.

I'M outta Here

You had referenced a insurance co. in a previous post. I posted that notice to document that you cannot trust the insurance industry. If there is a small crack in the policy you can bet that the insurance company will try to sneak thru it.
Thanks all: a FYI.

Of course Brian should take offence, I don't blame him at all! He was trying to unload his equipment and there you are, slamming it based on a one-time experience, then proceeded to pitch your own product. It is blatantly obvious that you have a different agenda, in addition to your lack of professional courtesy shown toward a competitor. You're the last person who should critique equipment in an objective fashion!

Since you always mentioned customers of yours having no problems getting insurance, I for one would like to actually hear it from their mouths.

Insurance Update

Hard to believe for me but I have has 52 insurance rejections so far. Looks like if anyone has coverage it is very unique and probably not going to cover a loss. I would never have imagined that this would be the biggest hurdle in this type of business when I first started....

Insurance?

John,

"got quotes from 4 insurance companies under a $1000 per year?? . "

As they say someplace, Let's see your hand. Talk is easy, but can you show the facts? Or is it just so much air?
