BEST ESC

I think right now the best 12s and above ESC is the Kontronik power Jazz 63v. That's the ESC I will use in my 3DMPXL-E when it arrives....Ron

Thunderpower/Flightpower 5000 packs fit, Airthunder/KongPower dont.

I will be a HEAVY bird, Im running 2 x 6s1p 5000 on my .90 sized machines and they are quite heavy with it, powerful due to the large blade size, but heavy.

I think I rather run a single 6s1p on a Logo 500 with 550 blades.

and yep, its nothing better out there then the PowerJazz, its heavy though, 280 grams.

Agree with Mr. Mel, Logo 5003D Vstabi and those packs individually.

So, yes, the Logo 600 will be insanly heavy with them, therefor your better off using the L500 with ONE 6s1p pack.

Here comes the sad part,

It will BUT, it will be nose heavy, I dont run my Ion-X2 for that reason anymore.

However, there is one machine they will fit perfectly in, not off the shelf though, its a Electrified Stratus, cgbole did a single stage mod for it, im building a dual stage mod for it.

heres a picture of the modded version Im working on, with 2 x 6s1p 5000 packs.

Im flight-testing at the moment so the design might still change.

Not so far

Conversion is 80% made out of MA's Stratus & Ion-X2 parts, I gonna complete a partlist + drawings for the only thing you have to make you self when Im done (CF Siderails), non MA parts can be bought off the shelf (shaft and bearings needed).

Well an Ion is going to cost you a heap more $ to buy, and rebuild in a crash.

Mr. Mel

How nose heavy is the Ion with the 6s 5000's? Is it really that bad not to fly it?

Do you think the 4350's or 4500's would balance better?

Hello, I wouldn't recommend running 12S 5000's in an X2 either because of too much nose weight. On 10S they are perfect, but 12S is too much, even though it'll still fly.

T-Rexn8, I'm running 12S TP Extreme 4500's instead and yes it does balance and provide LOTS of power even at 22C. Video of mine:

http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...hmentid=1567127

Another great battery option are the lighter 12S 3850 V2 (or even 13S). I'm waiting for the packs to arrive. I'm expecting to still get good (and very powerful ) 3D flight times with those packs and a set of TST blades.

The smaller Logo 10/500's do rock on 6S 5000 cells. I've seen them in the air and they are indeed impressive. My carbon Logo10 flies great on 6S but it ain't no Ion. I also have a set of 6S 5000's V2 on order to take it to the next level. Good luck.

Chachin..

Cool. Thanks Chachin. Are you saying that the Ion will actually balance correctly with the 4500's?

Also what is your flight time with the 4500's?

Seems like flight times with the 3850's are around 3 minutes only?

Hello,

Yes, with the 4500’s it will balance (with right amount of nose-down tendency) by placing the PowerJazz and receiver pack towards the rear of the frame. That’s what I’m flying in the video. Now with the 3850’s I should be able to bring either the PJ or the receiver pack back in front of the motor and have an even more neutral balance.

I set my timer to 4:50 and land at the 5 minute mark. I’m putting back around 2800 to 2900mAh right now. With the 4500’s you could push it to either 4:30 or 6min depending on how much “performance” you want/need. I thought I woudn’t like the flight times at first, but it’s plenty considering its such an adrenaline rush. Now with the 3850’s I'll probably set my timer to 4:30. Maybe more (5 min?) with the TST blades spinning at a reasonable 2000 rpms. We’ll see how that goes when I have it flying.

You’ll only go under the 4min mark if you go for ballistic headspeeds coupled with hard stick banging. David Dillings is getting 3:45 min with his very impressive 12S 3850 V2 setup. His flight time may be short but it’s one wicked ride :

Good information.

I am starting to think about going with the new Evo 30 6s 4500's
Seems like 5 minutes of .90 plus power is possible?

I am using the CC HV 110 mounted on the furthest rear part of the side rails also the Arizona regulator on the other side of the rear end. My rx pack is in front of the motor though.

I cant wait to experience 12s POWER!!!
