Convince me which way I should go. I am open to either so lets have it.

Well, actually the package contains also a cd, usb-cable and few servo wires .

EDIT: back to topic... IMHO V-Stabi software looks more user friendly compared to CSM.

I don't see that as any reason to buy either. How about flying wise?

From what I have been reading it is more efficient less drag from the flybar and faster cyclic response. Correct me if I am wrong.

im going with v-bars on my trex600n and synergy. the v-bar is just way easier to setup ,less parts, less weight. and a whole lot easier to figure out how to setup. and you dont need a tail gyro its built right in it. all 3 gyro's in one now that is sweet by itself not have 3 gyro's to mount somewhere

Vbar...

I have 2 vbars right now...one in a Roxxter 55 and the other in a logo 600 3d..

It took me about 2 nights of playing around to figure out how vbar worked...but after that I realized it's actually VERY simple to set up and fly...I plan to have a majorityof my machines converted to flybarless very soon

The Mikado Interface for the vbar system is SUPER easy to use and is very intuitive..it only took me about an hour or so to set up my Roxxter...the next flybarless conversion should take about 1/2 hour to set up I think..

Inertial sensor versus gyro only...

Hey,

You might want to do some research about what a true inertial sensor package is, as compared to a gyro only based system.

In essence, one has the acceleration information coming from the hardware, the other has to calculate it in the algorithm.

So, if you can imagine doing a piro flip with something that has a slow calculation rate (like a GY240 versus a GY611), then you will understand the advantage of a true 6DOF IMU (inertial measurement unit).

As far as flybarless or not, that should be in a thread on it's own, because it would overwhelm this particular topic.

Hope this lays a foundation...

Hi,

To clarify this: The VBar contains no acceleration sensors, it contains rate gyros on all 3 axis. linear acceleration will not help very much for the purpose of emulating a flybar.

But the single package solution has big advantages in correction of alignment errors. Not only static offsets, but dynamic errors also.

I think its very hard to compare VBar with another brands system, since the main differences are in the settings. So you only can compare VBar setting A on Heli X with another System Setting B on Heli X. To much variables
VBar enables you to adjust almost everything if you like, so the traditional method - buy, test, sell is no more applicable

Ulrich,

Thank you for the clarification, as we were mis-informed that the V-Stabi was a true IMU back in 2006.

Hello

Just to the defense of Futaba... Their gyros actually have a fantastic update rate, but lack the option to control something called the decay.

The decay is what gives you the pendular flybar feel. If the 401 had a decay adjustment like CSM and VBar (the Probar has it too) then it could be an "adjustable" system. Even with out the decay I'd just run it in rate mode(could be considered a very fast decay...) with a mixer and it would work just fine.
