I wanted the Gyro,in the rear, did not want it sitting on top of front cyclic servos.Did not want to tape it to tail boom gearbox,so as not to have to remount it to service tail boom.
So,,,I found an old servo, removed all of the innards, and mounted it in the empty hole opposite the rear pitch servo. The gyro seemed to fit real well, and is working great. If one was real anal about weight, you could drill lighting holes in the empty case,or fill it with helium.

I Love RC Helis, and have the Receipts to prove it

thats a nice idea.

I was thinking in drilling 4 holes in the tail output case and bolt a plate to that so that the gyro would be like 1mm over the case and if I need to service the output gears, I only would need to unbolt the gyro.

Doesn't anyone appreciate originality and anything that can be made to be different in the ARF world where one looks like the other thousand...

I commend you For seeing a use for something that is already there..

Necessity is the mother of invention....

While we are critiquing heli's lets look at this one.. I really like the switch mount and gorilla sized zipties...Good job Grim

If in doubt lean it out . We don't do this to save money, we save money to do this

Rotorwacker wanted to show everyone his idea.. Sorry that I felt it looked tacky.. was just posting my opinion. If I see any idea that doesnt look good at my field I tell them! If some of my friends thinks something is tacky on mine I sure hope they tell me. Oh and Rickster, I'll get some smaller zip ties.. Thanks!
