I have a quick ep-8v2 with 990qj motor and qj50a speed control. There are no instructions for the speed control. I need help with basic setup of this speed control. What should my throttle curves look like and how do I set the limits for the rpm? any help would be greatly appreciated. I have never setup an electric heli before.

The throttle curve is more linear in stick mode and a V curve in flight mode, I have a Spektrum DX6 with a three pointe throttle and use 0%-80%-100% for stick and 100%-85%-100% for flight mode. The max throttle setting will depend on the number of cells in the battery, the kv of the motor and the number of teeth on the pinion, you must also pick a target head speed, 2200-2400rpm basic,2400-2600rpm advanced, and 2600-2800 extreme 3D, I typicaly use a higher tooth pinion for the skill level I am working towards and reduce the throttle percent to a head speed I am comfortable with, this way I can make the heli more responsive at the field with a simple radio adjustment instead of a pinion change, good brushless electric motors perform well at reduced throttle speeds, go to this site for help, http://www.readyheli.com/category_s/81.htm . I have sheet for the ESC, its very simple, I will see if I can find it.

If you have an SP instead of an EX dont exceed 2400rpm

Contact harold of Helicopter Hobbies. Between a translated version and some other sources, I wrote a set of instructions for him.

Thanks Guys'

We Got it going. My friend who is a nitro guy was helping me set up the jr 9303 2.4.

At first the motor was spinning in the reverse direction, we switched two of the 3 wires, problem solved.

It was very windy with small gusts, my friend didn't have any trouble keeping it under control. Then my turn I put the training gear that I build out of fiberglass tent poles & wiffle balls on it. All and all I didn't do to bad. It got away from me a little bit but I brought it back each time & it went home in one piece.

I can't wait for a calm day to try it again.
