Hi,

I am considering buying a TRex 600E or equivalent heli. How do you compare TRex 600E with equivalent Mikado heli. I am not biased and open to any good heli.

I mean in terms of performance, cost and cost of maintanance/parts.

Please advise.

Thanks

You realize you are in the Mikado Forum right????

Performance wise the Logo 600 with the proper setup will be the better flier but the parts cost is much higher.
There have been some quality issues with the Trex 600, bad motors that come apart in flight, bad electronics, but it's a hit or miss thing. I have heard of people with MANY problems and I have heard of people with NO problems.
The Logo had some problems originally (stripping main gears) but they have seemed to be sorted out.
The Logo is mostly plastic whereas the Trex is mostly CF (if you buy the CF version, there is and aluminum version also) and CNC aluminum. They are both nice helis and they both fly well. I would give the advantage to the Logo. The one problem with the Trex is you can't buy the kit without the electronics so you are stuck with them unless you sell them and start with ones you like.
The Trex 600 and Logo 600 are about the same price but the Trex comes with electronics whereas the Logo is a bare bones and no blades.
I don't think you will go wrong with either as long as you know what to expect....Ron

Played around with both to know that the T600 seems to get loose and sloppy quicker than Mikado. Mikado also offers a simpler design(you definitally pay for engineering and quality but not so much the part count because there is nothing too it).

Both helis will get the job done but if you want smooth and simple then Logo is your choice.

If you want a heli that has a lower part price but still be a decent flyer then go with a TREX.

Heck if the VBar head worked on the T600 I would own a T600 because the Logo parts are pretty darn expensive.

If you have any nitro experience, its kind of like comparing a Raptor (the T-Rex) to an X-Cell (the Logo). In the right hands and with the right equipment, they both can be made to rock and roll. But the Logo is the ticket all else being equal. The question is are you past the 'crash often' stage. If not, the T-Rex might be the best choice, as parts are cheaper, and the power system they provide would probably suffice. If you've made to the entry level 3D stage and don't hit the ground too often, then get the Logo, equip it with a suitable 10S power system, and buckle you seatbelt!!

I am a neutral but think that the advice offered so far is spot on. Logo is the better machine but parts are expensive. Trex is cheap for parts and more than capable in the air. Do you want German engineering and quality or...the other option! Thats what it comes down too and if starting out then the trex is probably better value for money if a few crashes are likely. If you want the smoothest 600 size available then get the logo.

I think comparing the trex to a Cadillac is a bit harsh its more of a Toyota or Hyundai, not nearly enough cheap plastic to be compared to an american car plus it can turn corners

Regards

Fergus
