why not just buy the Align metal fan for 12 bucks more and be done with it?

Because if the plastic does the same thing, why spend the extra money?

I am running the original fan without any problems. I must have had one of the good ones.

If plastic spins at 17000-18000 rpm over time it has to wear out.

How many years is that going to take to wear out! I assume are talking about the plasic fan. I don't think I ever had one wear out and I been flying since 1994.

Just an assumption. I have had align plastic go brittle. I have had align plastic main grips bolt holes strech out to the point they are oblong. Thats with only 2000 HS.

I understand that the centrifical force is different on those items as they are not a balanced item spinning on there own axis. (IE the fan).

Im just saying 12.00 like mentioned earlier, go for it.

The stock fan will not hold the mags for a gov. I just bought the new HD plastic fan and it is thicker and feels like different plastic. The holes for the mags are also deeper. I also have the Align metal fan in a 600, works well also.

The fans should be balanced. If they are not, they need to be balanced by the builder.

My original fan is holding the governor magnets just fine. My Hirobo fan is plastic, and it has lasted a long time. I do not really see how it could wear out.

Well, I had to open my big yapper. My original plastic fan threw both the magnets last Sunday. One day I will learn not to anger the Heli gods.

I was going to give it a try, but my guy was out of stock. So I had to pony up the extra 12 dollars and go for the metal fan.
