ok I am setting up the last part of my rev max and was wondering what should be my desired rotor head speed HIGH in rpm's and my desired rotor head speed LOW in rpm's

I have a hawk pro with a toki 40 engine ( not sure if the engine size matters in this)

I thank everyone that reviews this and helps me out with this.

I run mine at about 2000 and 1850. Been run like that for years and it does pretty good with 3D for a os .32 engine.

That all depends what you want:

Higher head speeds (1800 - 2000) - hot cyclic for 3D (more fule burn per minute of flight)

Mid head speeds (1600 - 1800) - good cyclic for smoother aerobatics and gentler 3D (better fuel economy/longer flights)

Lower head speed (1350 - 1600) - softer cyclic for training and more scale like flying (even more fuel ecoomy, with longer flight times)

As the Toki (assuming you got it with its' designated muffler) likes high revs, you will find it can be set to work comfortably at head speeds from 1600 to 2000.

I only use the GV-1 whih I find really easy to set up so I cannot help you with yours. Bit there is a specific forum fro governors and gyros etc. here on RR.

Maybe someone in there can help you.

well seems like a good rule of thumb thank you for the info. Next question is do you know how to set up the high rpm and the low rpm for the throttle jocky in the futaba 9c super?

I don't don't fly futaba but the radio shouldn't matter here. Assuming it's installed correctly and only one magnet is installed to cause the sensor to 'flash', here is a guide to setup.

and another writeup.

Make sure when you calibrate set the low end that you hit the 'throttle cut' so that the TJ will know where throttle off is.

I don;t know about the futaba 9c super,, but if you do a search for Hawk Pro head speed (or wood blades head speed) you will find many posts on it,,

I don't know how long you have been flying helis, but if your looping rolling and zipping around then you are ready for better blades, the Funkey blades in the link will complement the H-Pro, they are very very good blades for the money..
