I'm just loading on Vista.

I'm a PC guy but we got a deal we couldn't pass on this imac.

We'll use Leopard for all OS stuff and Vista strictly for gaming.

I told this to a few friends who are 'mac is the best' people and they almost pooped their pants.

... But honey it was only $$$

Being a computer guy people always ask me what kind of computer I would buy. I always say it depends on a few things. Inevitably they will ask me what I am buying, and the answer is always my next PC will be a MAC

Yah there running lepard on PC's now too. There still making the drivers but it works fine. I actually am negotiating with a guy who has a G5 duel core mac. Can you run a windows on the G5 chip? Or is that just the intel chips?

There are some apps that will allow you to run it on a G5 MAC inside the OS but it wont run natively. Thats the nice thing about them using Intel procs now, it will run natively so you can dual boot if you need to

People pooping pants is not so good. Neat though.

MAC's only make people Poop their pants because they actually emit the "brown noise"

It's pretty neat though. The bootcamp dual boot system.

With the 4gig's of ram load up time is non-existent between the two OS's.

PC and linux have been doing that for the past 10 years though. Glad to see Apples joining the club. I would love to see XP running with full support on mac's, and Leapord running on PC's with full support too. I know the latter will never happen, because that would kill mac's rep about being so secure but it would be nice.

Learn how to actually use a Windows PC and stop loading all kinds of crapware and they run just as good.

I have 6 PCs running 24/7 and they all "just work".

^^ i agree! our desktop computers are over a year old, once a week i do the usual clean, virus scan, ETC, there still running like new, if not better then new because all the junk is gone. people download crap without scanning and never check if they have a virus, then they dont know what hit them when there pc wont start the next morning. Macs dont get viruses cuz theres like nothing to downlad for them! the virus doesnt really care what the os is.... and now that there backwards compatible with windows watch all the viruses flawk in.

Yah as stated above If you quit installing crap ware and buy nicer end components you'll never have a problem. The reason mac's "Work Right" is because all their hardware is proprietary. Meaning This year apples support 5 different chip sets, where as PC supports 300 chip sets. Now if apple did support all these chip sets their security, and antivirus would be the same as PC. I love macs too but the problem is software is so limited. Amazingly though all the adobe programs are cheaper for mac then PC.

I have been looking at mac books for my mobile needs. I use way to many programs on my desktop to use a mac but I think for a laptop it would work fine.

I bought my first Apple product a few weeks ago, a new ipod nano. Two hours into the eighteen hour flight that I bought it to use on, it froze and stopped responding. When I got to my destination I looked up the reset, did it, and it started working again. It's frozen many times since then, probably the last Apple product I'll buy. If one of their mp3 players freezes so much I doubt I'd fork out cash for one of their computers. My WinXP PC freezes maybe twice a year, I can live with that.

Well.

I'm ashamed to say I own a mac now. I work for IBM and have been a PC guy since I was born.

However..

I have put Vista on my imac and placed it on a torture test that I put all my systems/servers/gaming guys on.

It's still going strong since 18hrs ago.

Thats the hard thing about porting apps, OS's like that. Your required to wait on independent people to make drivers to make everything work. This takes some time though.

MAC all the way. It just works!!!! enough said. You want to deal with winblows then boot camo it and have at it. Used Vista, supported Vista and hate the day when it is the only thing you can get.

From what I have heard internet access with Windows running on bootcamp is flaky. I havent seen an update come down since 3.5, so I dont know that I would worry about it.

I'm a big fan of VMWare's Fusion, it allows you to run OS X and Windows at the same time.

I have it installed on my wifes Macbook Pro, Very handy.

and with 10.5's spaces you can have windows running in its own space
