I have stripped and rebuilding the head on the belt cp and i don't have any guides or manuals to help me. i was wondering just how tight the nuts on the feathering shaft needs to be, and even better a diagram of the arrangement of the bearings and washers etc would be a huge help.

thanks very much

I cant help with the diagram, but the screws on the spindle need to go in all the way.and then you use spacers to fine tune the fit.Make sure you use loctite

IIRC the Belt CP does not have a spindle with female threaded holes for bolts to butt up against. It has male threads for lock nuts, and no hard stop. I sold my Belt CP so I am going from memory here, but I used to just go by feel - tight enough to reduce any slop, not so tight as the be squeezing the dampers out of the head. I used to hate this setup for this exact reason. The T-Rex450/Thuner Tiger E325 way of doing this is way better (which is why I now own both!).

Belt CP was a good cheap intro to collective pitch helis, but the sloppiness in the whole thing put me off it really quickly.

thanks.

ive done my own mod but not tested it yet. instead of using the rubber washers ive used bearings in there place, now its stiff but they spin easily. is that right? if so then why the heck arnt all heli's set up like this. with those rubber washers you get slack and play cos theres not enough support for the feathering shaft.
