So how is everyone transporting thier King? I've been trying to figure some way to safely transport it. I see Esky sells a very nice case. It looks like it can hold the radio and a couple batteries. Kind of expensive for this class of heli.

I'll tell ya Gregor, Back in the day when I had an Eflite CP Pro, I bought a nice case for it and never used it, sold it a week later on Ebay. Now with the King I forgot about the case and bought the foam blade holders, after a couple of times using them, I said screw it, I just simply grasp the heli with my fingers under the Blade grips and carry and fly. Thats just me Gregor, I hope someone comes along and tells you about the ultimate King case.

Ditto but I'm sssooooo poor I had to make my blade holders, I cut from foam out of the garbage bin in the alley. I have hinted and left the website up on the PC for the metal case on helidirect $44.99 for metal case doesnt seem bad to me its an align knockoff. But for my BCPP I just bought a stanley toolbox cut foam once again from the garbage can in the alley. bot the king head is too tall for it so measure your bird and go to your local homestore and do some shopping. There are some with compartments on top of the lid to hold a weeks worth of spares thats the one I bought. I sure wish the king fit in it.

For backyard flying I just grab the head and go. Mostly I'm concerned to transport to park or flying field. I don't want it to be bouncing around in the trunk. Below are some shots of the Esky case. I like that it includes a spot for the transmitter.

I want one of those right now. Heres the box I was using for the BCPP it would house everything I even had an old Motorcycle battery in it so it could charge the packs. I have since taken out the foam no matter what I did I couldnt get the king to fit should of sold it I guess its worth more than a BCPP.

I wish they would make them out of plastic they are expensive cause aluminum is slowly reaching the price of gold.

where do you find these at?
I wanna see if the foam is precut

Most of the offshore Esky dealers are carrying them. I haven't found them state side yet. Maybe I'll mail Jim @ Jag to see if he can get them. They are a little on the pricey side. $55 before shipping so we are into the cost of BB kit.

Like Gregor99, I just snap my transmitter to my belt, grap a head in each hand and walk to the part (about 300' away from my house).

To travel, I made up this tote. Just a standard plastic tote, with 2" thick plastic foam (not styrofoam) in the bottom.

I melted 3/8" deep grooves in the foam with a soldering gun for the skids to sit in (tight fit keeps the helis from jumping around in the car),
and cut holes for the transmitter and batteries (not all the way through so they would still have some cushion).

BTW: for the aluminum case, try:

I think I'm gonna go for the cheapo on helidirect $44 w/$10 shipping.

Its a bit bigger its for a TREX same size as the align case. not a lot but just big enough for more junk.

I would say tutelar-rc hit it right. That looks like a great job on a homemade case, I think I just might copy it. You dont have that patent pending do you?

My patents do not apply to this "transportation device". I do take donations to feed my heli-habit!

If you want additional pictures, let me know...

That's probably a good idea. That way it will also fit your BeltCP when you get it The one thing I worried about on that case is that the Trex uses an underslung flybar so the cutout for the flybar would be in the wrong place. They may have included a upper cutout for greater compatiblity with more helis, but I cant' tell from the pic.

I don't mind a few cuts but building my BCPP case from foam blocks was a nightmare. I plan on a few cutouts anyway a slot for spare blades I have the little plastic case my HDX300 came in full of hardware you know how it goes never get it all in there but sure will try.

Here's a slightly different option from WingTOTE. You can't see it, but there's a padded spot for a transmitter in the end pocket. Its only a little cheaper than the aluminum case option. I think I'd need to see one in person to be convinced of its suitability.

Good news for me. First of all Gregor99 Its a duffel bag from walmart with foam in it. My LHS has one I checked it out I was not impressed Like I said its a duffel bag So thats what you should expect. I would carry my cleets and softball bats in it but not my pride and joy if you know what I mean. Back to lucky ol me after constant referring to it my wife gave in and said if I order it shell pay for it especially If she gets the dining room table back.I had my fingers crossed when it came to getting the dining room table back.

Oh and I definitely would not put my radio in that end pouch.

That's kind of what I figured. It does look like a duffle bag and I can't see how you'd protect the radio. There were a couple reviews on HD, very postive. But I'm sceptical. With the aluminum case, you know what you are getting. Pretty solid.

About the table, sounds like you've got a good wife there. I don't think I'd get away with that. Although she did buy me nice workbench when were first married. As I recall it came a little while after I started working on the on-road car on the table

Notice in the picture how you have to have a shoehorn to get a BCP in it? I dont think a good size heli would fit.

Wow is your wife a marriage counselor. I have a whole workshop setup in my basement with Dishnetwork. But I just never make it down there Cant wait to finish my garage I am going to have a mancave choppers with rotors and 2 wheels. and all the luxuries never need to go inside again maybe this will help my marriage last?

Oh and it was the wingtote brand at my LHS red and all Identical to the one above. I dont think the savings are worth what you get.

Ill give my review on the cheap HD $44 aluminum case in a few days just ordered it this morning. Who knows maybe the wingtote is better but somehow I doubt it.

The biggest problem I see in the metal case is having to twist around the horizontal fin over the radio.
