We gave my father in law the Wii for his birthday last night. I felt like a damn fool waiving my arm out in front of me making my profile. The remote condom is a good idea. We set it up at their house around 8:30 last night and my 54 year old in laws stayed up till 12:30 playing it! For once in my life, I cant wait to go back there!

Another accessory you might want to consider is the Nyko charge station for the remotes. You get the dock, two battery packs and a new back cover. While the remotes don't chew through batterys really fast, if you have more than one you will be spending a bunch on dry cells.

I still don't get the whole flap with the sleeves. I've played plenty of tennis on my Wii and I've never come close to letting go of the controller.

I guess I'm one of the luck (at least 100) this morning at Toys R Us. They even let us in earlier this morning so I waited in the store . 5 mins later they closed the doors and told the them they may be out and had to wait outside. Also across the lot, lines was at BestBuy waiting to get in. Sure hope they were not waiting for the Wii when they could have walk into ToysrUs before me .

Now the hard part is waiting another 23 days to let the kids open it.
Wife did say open it when the kids are a sleep..

So what are the good mutli player games for age 9 & 12?
Got Mario Party 8, Wii Play, Mario Galaxy.

Does the old gamecube games work? Kinda of mad that they stop making games for the old system so had to buy the Wii.

Got one yesterday morning. Pulled in the Toys R Us parking lot at 2:45am (first one). Around 5:30 they came out and gave us all tickets for the console. They only had 20. We were told to came back at 7:45 and they would let us in.

I got the console, Mario Galaxy, Tiger Woods '08, Wii Play, Bratz (for my daughter), two SD cards, and a nunchuk. Got it out last night and played Tiger. Had a blast by myself. I can't wait to get a few people together. It sure beats playing with a typical controller.

Really??? Oh man I have to have that game now!

I love my Wii, don't have a ton of games yet though. Just Wii Sports and Zelda (which is awesome!)

This hobby is like Kryptonite to chicks!

If you're looking for mini-game party-type games, check out WarioWare and the Rayman Raving Rabbids (the Rayman 2 just game out). You could also look at Super Monkey Ball, but I've heard the control scheme stinks. Haven't tried it myself, though.

I would say with a lot of Wii games, I would try it out via rental before dropping $50 bucks on it. And not being able to return it when it sucks.

Gamestop should be getting some used Wii titles in stock now as well, but again, they tend to be the lower-tier games that nobody wants.

One constant with Nintendo systems is they never seem to have a shortages of crappy franchise games. Those are the ones I'd stay away from. They are usually hastily put together to match the release timing of the movie or whatever, and it shows.
