What's the difference between the "remote" and the "nunchuk"?

Thanks

The nunchuck plugs into the remote and adds another controller for your other hand. It has a joystick and buttons on it, as well as the accelerometers installed. It is used either as a joystick, or as another "hand" in wii style games. Like in boxing, you need the nunchuck to be able to box two-handed.

There are 3 Costco's here in my town. One Costco was able to tell me which store was getting them first. My wife arrived 40 min b4 the store opened and there were 14 people in a line all for the Wii.
A Costco employee came out and gave them a number. From what I was told, it was really an organized deal opposed to the bum rush they had before they decided they needed to organize it.

I think I'll be camping out at Toys R Us tomorrow night. From what I've heard they have a similar system with numbers. If I get there early enough this will probably be my best chance.

Most stores run on the "numbers system" because of the popularity of the Wii. More than anything, they're trying to avoid lawsuits from people getting stampeded on their property.

I would reccomend getting the accessories now before the console gets back in stock. Otherwise you may get the console tomorrow but no extra remote if they run out.

I got all my accessories but no console yet. I guess I'll be out the door early tomorrow, so no flying.

if you need an extra remote dont buy one without cosidering the wii play package, basicly its a game that come with a free remote for the same price as buying a wii remote.

Good point, I forgot to mention that. That's what I got too.
BTW, the newer remotes comes with a cover. It's the one in the box under the clear plastic.

I'm getting old and slow. Yesterday morning I saw the Wii online for sale and I wasted 30 mins looking to see if the bundle package was OK. BIG mistake. All sold out when I decide to buy it. So only 15 more hours before I freeze my butt off waiting in front of the stuipd store or if I find it online again tonight .

the palstic/rubber cover you are refering too is called the wii jacket. all new wii consols are being shipped witha jacket for each controller. i bought my wii about two months ago this was before they shipped them with the jackets after i regitered my wii i had an email from nintendo all owners of a wii console that was bought before the issue of the jackets can go online fill in there details and receive a free jacket for each controller.
if you go to nintendos web site you can find links to apply for you free jacket you are best off makeing sure that you have registered each product you are claiming a jacket for.

In the stores, they are sell both the old ones without the jacket and the new ones with the jacket for the same price. The clear plastic I was refering to was the clear plastic display package. The old one you see the remote and the new one has a box and can't see the remote.

That's great that they will upgrade you with the jacket if you got the old one.

If I get the console tomorrow, will that gaming system stay in the box until Christmas for my kids? The hunt for this silly Wii makes me want to play with it NOW. lol.
