I have been using realflight 2lite for many years now. Not many options but it runs and works good. I really only want the sim to get my fingers and head on the same page, I dont care about bells and whistles, as long as the stick action and heli action are close. On the flight line my Hawk acts differantly but not much and it seems to me only because, well its real and the crash is gonna cost me. So my question is: in G2 lite are all the physics "right" all the stick moves basicly the same, the flight actions accurate? What are the advantages of upgrading? Are they all about graphics and model choice or are there advances regarding real flight accuracy? Id rather spend my limited $$ on parts (I always need em) rather than software, unless that software can help me in a real way.

From my perspective (started with G2, now have G3.5), the flight characteristics are pretty realistic. BUT, on the simulators you have constant power, the bird is set up perfectly etc. In real life that isn't the case. Get a hiccup because of an air bubble, have your engine tuned a bit different, have a sticky linkage, have some rubbing and generate a bit of interferance, have a gust of wind, etc. etc. etc. means that in real life the Heli does fly differently.

Now add to it a $100 cost or more and no reset button and nerves start to get in the way as well.

The nice thing about the SIM is you can use it year round. When it is cold and snowy, wet and rainy, windy and yucky, you can practise on the SIM in the warmth of your office / easy chair.

And, the better you get, the less you need to spend on parts (or so I've heard).

Got Money? Send it to me, I'm a Heli Addict.

If you got the Tx , try Phoenix. That sim has taken me a long way. Inverted, backwards, inverted backwards, piro flips, big bens, the physics are incredible and realistic to boot. Still doesnt mean the pucker factor is going to go away, atleast not at first!

Hey WJackson,
Does buddy boxing help to overcome some fears of just flying free?

I'm setting a buddy rig up for the club for next season. We have several members that are ready to go to FF but need a helping hand. I'm hoping the buddy box will be the aid to get them there. Sooooo let ya know next year!

FBoss, it seems nobody has really read your post or understood the question.

I don't own RF2 but i have played it and if memory serves, the only real reason to upgrade is for the multiplayer. To me it is worth having multiplayer because it really makes the sim more enjoyable! I play alot of other multiplayer games too so it might be different for you.

Thanks 151, I do alot of mulitplayer as well. To me RF is much more a tool than a game. My intrest in it has to do wiht being a better RC heli guy. I will say that the multi player optioncould help alot, if you had an experianced guy flyin with a newbee. Is that an On line multi player thing? I dont have too many experianced guys at hand. Thanks for the carefull consideration. Seems to me my $$ are better spent on crash parts! then on upgrade to RF

Bedford, IN. Not too far away, just head west on 50.

RF3 and up is capable of online multiplayer and splitscreen multiplayer. Splitscreen requires a second radio which can be any normal radio or another interlink radio.

Online multiplayer can really be benificial if you find somebody willing to help you, which isn't usually too hard. They can watch you and your stick movements and vice versa. Flying with other people is one of the main reasons for going out to the local field right? So the same can be true on the sim.

I can't tell you how many times i've gotten on to fly and started talkin to people about what they really fly and tips and questions and so on.

I wouldn't be here on RR if somebody i met on RF3 hadn't told me about this place!
