I guess a better question for the big dogs would be

We have established the importance the flight simulator. Now which flight sim do you think the pro's fly.. I would love to hear what the Stacys think or a collin bell type.. Which one do they feel would be the best..

I am 14 been flying for 3 months

I sim about an hour a day. I just throw the sticks around, sometimes I realy concentrate but most of the time I just fly. but I have gotten so much better so fast on the sim. I do loops/rolls without worry with my 450 in real life. I do tick tocks without to much worry, but they are not that great yet, I am working on them. I do nose in fairly well. stall turns, fast flight, circuits. all I need is money for a 600 Nitro Pro, with DS8717's and a JR770 gyro with DS8900G servo, and I will be very good. two with unlimited fuel and I would be pro, but I don't think that will happen.

The heli doesn't make the pilot... it's the other way around. As someone once said, Szabo Jr. could do tic-tocs with a box fan...

I think it all really has to do with the whole eye hand thing.

i personally play a lot of FPS games like halo and the like and find that it really helps heli wise. i have better control over fine inputs on the sticks as i've developed more muscle control (or so it seems) in my fingers. also, it seems that i have pretty fast reaction time when it comes to hitting the throttle hold switch or noticing i'm near danger and moving away

it could also have to do with age. i'm 18, and can fly a lot better then some of my college friends who are 20 and 21 and have been doing helis for a while. one of them has been going for about a year and is just getting circuits down.

One more thing it could be is that i flew planes for about 2.5 years. That really really helped with the heli flying. Just having stick time helps. I know the feel of my radio, and just have the sense for something in the sky. Plus, i had just gotten into precision flying before i stopped flying to pick up helis and having to do that precise stuff got me up in the ranks on helis. tiny movements is what its all about to be smooth

The ability for a signal to get accepted by the eye, into the brain, get figured out, the brain developing a response, brain sending response signal to the appropriate muscles, the response signal getting through the nervous system, and then the muscles acting on that signal...
I agree: hand-eye coordination is everything, and repetition will grow it. Hard work is the other component to getting "good." The gamers (and the like) have a natural tendency for this coordination. I've also found the analytical thinkers can get it fairly quickly as well. That is the category I fall into. But I also flew R/C planes since 1989.

If you are a slow learner, then so be it, and don't give up. Heli's are like a master piece puzzle. Crazy fun.

I just finished flying this sim and on my way out to study for exams for monday..

I am noticeably better just in the last few days.. It seems like you don't feel like your getting anywhere with the sim and then all of sudden you progress... The sim is so much fun for me.. I dont see how people get bored with it.. There are so many different routines you can copy and tricks to master.. My piro flips now feel very natural and much more in control just in the last few days.. I do think that it is possible to master this without having to have started flying at four years old.. ( The sim means a lot, BELEIVE IT).. I could never find the fuel or the time to fly as much as I do..Someone buy my reflex... It is for sale.. I am sticking with g3

Don't get a belt CP get a trex the they fly really really nice, and you can always find parts for them. Every heli guy knows how to fix them. And most of the guys at your flying field probably have one so they can help you with any problems. They cost a lot more but for me it was definitely worth it. A trex with a dx7 is what you want

i mowed meh lawn yesterday.

they dont sell trex or even trex parts at two of my lhs. ive yet to check the third one

i might just get a blade 400 cause its rtf costs only $400 and comes with a dx6. they sell it and parts at one lhs. the only thing is the gyro is kinda twitchy.

it pissed me off when i got a blade cx when the bcx2 was already out and i didnt know about it. but what pissed me off more was the fact that i got a bcx instead of a sim or something
