I have just updated my Video card. I got an Asus EN 8800 Ultra card with 768mb of memory and boy, does it perform .
With the highest res. and everything maxed out I am getting 135 FPS at Joes' garage . When I fly very close to scenery such as trees etc . It drops to 110 FPS but thats it . It looks just like a video picture .
Mind you it did cost a bit but its well worth it and I did not buy it just for RF G3.5 , I do play quite a few other computer games as well.
My son got me hooked on games so I can blame him for all of the costs.
One has to enjoy life and I am 65 years old and am going to make sure I enjoy every bit of whats left.
Life is a one act play with no rehearsals or encores.

Yes its very close to that , 370 GBP . I can't use the symbol for your currency as my computer keyboard does not have one of those .
It is quite a bit of money but seeing as I play quite a few other games its worth it to me and I intend to spend some of the kids inheritance now .

I have just had a go at other fields and on the Sod Farm I get 300+ FPS and most other 3D fields a min. of 155 FPS .
My son is going to do a bit of overclocking as I have absolutely no idea of how to do it so that should make it incredibly good .
Even As it is it is fabulous .

What are you running for AA and AF settings?

Walk on water long enough, eventually you will get your feet wet.

I'm building a new machine and going to put in an EVGA SSC 8800GT, but it seems sold out everywhere! I've been trying to find one for two weeks now!

Everything else is ready to go except for the video card.

with the 8800 series cards you should me able to max out everything in realflight, i mean seriously if you can max out everything in bf2142, bioshock , (and others) why not realflight?

WOW. Thats impressive frame rates with AA and AF at 16x. I am running dual 8600gts' and while framerate is very good, its not near that.

For kicks and giggles I turned everything to low at 1440x900 and can get almost 1000 fps. I wonder if it will display over 1000 fps??

Yes, but check the price on the 8800 Ultras. I'd love one myself, but I can get two 8800GTs and run SLI for less than the cost of one 8800 Ultra.

thats a pretty awesome frame rate if you are running at high res.
I am running an ATI X1950XTX and i am getting 95fps in joes garage with everything on and all settings at the highest quality.
my screen resolution is 1280x1024 everything is very smooth even with lots of smoke.

Peace Through Superior Firepower!!!

Jack Perry .
Hi. I am running 1280 x 1024 res.
The card was rather expensive but as I said in my original post I am 65 years old and intend to spend as much of the kids inheritance as I need and they are most welcome to share what's left.
According to Tom's Hardware it is the fastest single operated card on the market at the moment but as we know as soon as one buys anything electronic its obsolete as soon as you take it out the door .
There will soon be newer and faster ones but this one is really exceptional.

With out reading all the post.. I get about 135 frames with a old Radeon 9800 pro with only 128mb on card.
Oh,, and from what I have read,, the eye can't see the difference after about 30 frames a second.

You guys gotta understand their is a HUGEEEEE difference in frame rates from 1260x 1024 compared to 1920x1200 for instance, your talking at least over a 100 frames a second on most games....So if your running a bigger monitor 24 inch or higher I reccomend the 8800GTX or Ultra.

And trust me you'll notice a difference between 30 frames a second and 90....Your eye can't notice all the frames, it can jsut notice the blazzzing fast spin arounds where as 30 frames a second is just fluid motion, not insane motion.
