Hi,Thanks for help…

My friends and I are planning to illuminate my home field so we can fly all week long because it’s getting dark at 5:30 PM and we normally get out from the office at 7:00 PM so no sun light any more.

We are planning to make this project like self made all together on the weekend; our problem is that we don’t know what kind of lamps or haw many we need per square feet or haw high the poles shut be haw many and so on..

We have Wall Mart, Grainger, Home Depot and True value, but the problem is that they only sale the lamps, they don’t offer support.

Any Help will be appreciated!!

Thanks Guys!

500 watt low pressure sodiums are what they use for lighting in parking lots 4 fixtures for about 100 square feet so I would use 4 pole 2 on each side of the retangle with each pole having 2 fixtures all facing into the area you want enlightened. This is what they use at the tennis court I fly at, and there cheap to power too.

Thanks JEEPWORLD2002

The area we are planning to illuminate is 45,000 square feet, 300 feet * 150 feet.

500 watts will be Awesome the lams rated at 500 watts are way more inexpensive.

What we will like is to have light power at the point that the heli and the grass almost get on fire!!

Hi, What would be the proper distance between each post if all set on the 300ft side ? Using the 500w lamps...
I guess is better to set lamps on one side, so there is no front lights when flying, Does this make sense ? Would higher watt lamps be need if so ?
Thanks !!

I would think it may be to low lighting. maybe if you went to 1000watts and did a row low then a row 20 deg higher and try it. maybe 500s for the low row and 1000s for top row ? try it and see.
