All who have the CarbSmart know that the sensor is very delicate. I installed the CarbSmart on my 600N last night only to find when I was done putting everything together my sensor went bad. I took off the shrink wrap and found that one of the ends came off. Tried to re-solder the lead back on; no luck. Several years ago I used something called a Venom SmartTemp. I went through my old parts and found 3 of those units. I cut off the sensor loop and attached it to some extra servo wire I had. The sensor light came on the CarbSmart, so I applied some heat and the servo moved. I took it out for a test flight and so far its working.

They really need to beef up that sensor!!!!

I'm sorry but are you nuts?

I did the same as you but I tested it first in hot water and the venom thermistor is 35C off when compared to the stock murata one. This means that while your engine is at 65C, the carbsmart is tricked into thinking its already at 100C... thats not VERY bad but it defeats the carbsmart's purpose...

How much did your tank last flying like this? 5 minutes?

NEVER EVER DO THIS WITHOUT TESTING THE SENSOR IN BOILING WATER FIRST!

If you had happen to put a sensor that was +35C off you would have already fried your engine by tricking the carbsmart thinking it was colder than it really would be

Tested it with heat first...

I applied heat before turning on the engine took my temps. Than took a temp gun measured my heat ranges 5 different times. Hover flight and in 3d hard maneuvers. I had good heat ranges so I will leave things at they are for now. Thanks for the input.

And yes about being nuts my wife is from Portugal and I'm not kidding.
