Hi Guys,

Have got my hand on a second hand Thunder Power 6s 5000mah pack. Plugged it into my Thunder Power balancer to check the condition and balance of the pack. I get a indication of a imbalance of under 0.03v but the balancer takes a good 10 minutes to even out one of the cells. Is this normal or is the pack on the way out?

I think the most important thing to check is : does it does it every charge/discharge cycle?

They may not be well balanced or one cell could be damaged. But 0.03v is quite possible if the pack has not been balanced in a while. Did he?

I'd try charging too and see how it behaves under load. Maybe the previous owner never balanced so one cell is a bit off from the others. I'd also play it safe and put in an old amo can while charging/storing/etc.

if your charger can cycle the lipo that would be the best thing to do, it sounds like it might be fine after a few uses.

-= I know there is Money in RC helicopters. I put it there=-
