I guess Align had some reason for making the tank so oddly shapped. I still can't figure out why it tapers on one side and the back. Plus the color sucks and you can't see the fuel. SO...what other brand of tank will fit in the opening? Has anyone tried a MA or JR tank?

I agree. I think a third party maker can make a larger more translucent tank and make a killing.

fwiw..
Tank is like that for a reason...Low and flat reduces the head pressure changes as the tank goes from full to empty....My buddys' Sceadu is plagued with that problem...Unless you rumn a YS!

i like the tank. i think it holds plenty of fuel for a good flight. and its also thick and heavy duty enough to handle the pressures from the YS engines.

Dont ask for the physics behind it, as Im no math wiz and couldnt answer, but the angles used in the tank design are intended to prevent air issues and the subsequent need for a header tank.

Nothing but air.......

As you know when the 600N tank gets low on fuel its not 100% efficient, the clunk in some cases can run in nothing but air during 3D when fuel levels run low on the 600N fuel tank. I have alleviated any chance of running a dry clunk with a header tank. many are against header tanks however I am not. I enjoy the extra flight time and most of all the added insurance the header tank offers the novice pilot, a novice pilot like myself. So imo if you are a novice pilot or not the best at autoing yet a header tank is for you, and at my personal level of flying running a header tank at this time is necessary.

Agree. Header tanks are the bomb! Novice or not, you can't control the clunk unless they have a special servo for that?

Try the Scedau EVO (480 cc)

Fits nicely in between the frames

more fuel (if you want it)

Better fuel visibility.

Is that Scedau tank just in between the frames?

HUSAFreak,

Yes, the original tank mounts keep it in place and surpress vibration.
