April 18th- 20th 2008.

We will be having our annual fun fly this year a week early to keep from conflicting with some other events. We look forward to seeing everyone this year. Last year was our biggest event ever and hope this year will just as good. It always great to hang and have a great time with some of the best pilots around and socialize with old friends and make some new ones too.

More info to come in the near future.

We had 85 pilots in 2007. That was our largest so far and as far as rv hookups we do not have any. You will have to have a generator or stay at the local state park which is about 15 minutes or so from the field.

Thanks

HHF Fun Fly 2008 - Hotel Information

All,

We have made arrangements with the MicroTel for good rates if you call them and mention you are attending the HHF Fun Fly. The hotel is about 5 minutes from the field and it has been open for just over a year. In addition there is a Waffle House next door. We have a new website with directions to the field as well as the Microtel. Please visit our website at huntsvilleheliflyers.org. The Contact Us tab has the map data.

The Microtel information is:
1820 Chase Creek Row
Huntsville, AL 35811
Tel: (256) 859-6655
Fax: (256) 859-6116

We look forward to seeing everyone again this year as well as meeting new people.

HHF 2008 Fun Fly - RVs, Campers and Vendors

All,

The fun fly is just a few short weeks away and we want to make sure we carefully consider parking for RVs/campers, pilots, vendors and spectators. As a result, we will provide specific parking locations for RVs/campers such that we maximize the use of the space at the field. We will also designate areas for vendors.

If you plan to stay at the field in an RV/camper please let us know and let us know when you plan to arrive. In terms of power and water you will need to provide these as HHF does not have any power or water connections. If you are a vendor please let us know if you plan to attend and we will reserve space accordingly.

Thanks and we look forward to hearing from you and seeing you at the event on April 18-20.

All the big dogs were there last year and I've talked to a few who are looking forward to making it this year. I'm sure it will be a great turn out.

I have been in the club for about 6 years and the fun fly has always been in April. As far as I know there has never been an event in July unless it was a FAI event.

Almost here, woot, woot. I cant wait, the HHF event is always a good time and the pro attendance is awesome. I cannot wait to see the surprises I want to tell!!!!!!! Can I? Can I?

Seriously folks, we have another fantastic event planned, you know we gotta keep taking it up a notch every year! This year should be boomin again, we've got all the pros just hanging out and having fun instead of workin. We've got a fantastic flying field for all day flying, the sun is to your back almost all day, good eats, great green, green, grass!

There is a slightly lower flight deck than the take off area for those that dare to go sub terrain in their maneuvers

Come on out and have fun with us, bring the whole family.

Also you scale and turbine guys bring your birds, we have a few turbine scalers in our club plus I believe Peter and Darrell will be showing up with all of their hot scales.

We usually get the melting pot of folks, a lot of every type of pilot and model, a real good mix, with real good people, equals a really good time.

Oh and all you night flyers dust off your gear, It gets almost pitch black at the field great for night flying. Dont forget to bring them!!! Your night birds need some luvin too!
