Is the 620 the same as the 550, with longer boom and blades? Or, What is different between the two?

From the Century website the FG canopy is optional, even on the 620. I wonder if the included canopy is of the same design as the FG or if it the standard swift one.

Main frame allows room for 3 main gears
Not sure that I understand what that’s all about?

Does that mean that there are three different main gears with different teeth counts?

Basically all metal upgrades included.

The 4mm flybar makes it fly more like a 90 size in stability,
the 600 motor on 6 s has more power than the trex 600. I think it is a bit lighter than the trex.

it is an awesome flying heli if your into 3d.

According to Tower Hobbies it comes with a Polypropolene? (Polypropylene plastic) canopy.

They also recommend a 4s or 6s LiPo – could this be correct?

They probably think that a 12 cell NiMH battery is high voltage – LOL.

A 620 helicopter with a 12 cell NiMH battery has got to be about the most boring to fly helicopter around.

Another question about the Tower ad – they say that this helicopter needs a “Dual Rate” gyro – not exactly sure what they are talking about? Are they trying to say that a standard heading hold gyro won’t work with the 620?

The nice thing about any electric heli of any consequence, is how versatile it is relative to power systems and the length of mainblades can use with them.

I would bet that the 620 (does not come with blades) could be set up with inexpensive 520mm wood blades and a 600+ motor using a 11T pinion and a 4S lipo or 12 cell NiMh, and fly well enough for most newbies and hit their pocket book in a manner that would not break the bank. In so doing they would have a larger outdoor heli that is very stable while giving them 8 to 10 minute flights.

Then as they progress, they can move up through a number of different power systems (e.g. a 6S/3700 to 5000mah, same motor on a 9T pinion with 530 to 560 blades) for some very spirited 3D and finally to a 10 cell extreme power package with a more powerful motor and ESC and everything else it entails...such that the only limit is ones skills on the sticks...and all from one airframe with little change.

Sounds like a winner to me

And fortunately, it has something even for the beakers. It has a poly canopy (although in a crash they are a BIG plus over a F/G unit)

I find the fact that it's all metal (except the tail grips) very convenient and safe. And that the main gear is hardened, that's great too. I just don't trust anything plastic on a helicopter, particularly, hubs, and grips.
I have 550 and it's a great machine. I think this one is great too.
As with any helicopter there are always things that can be improved, it's an infinite process. I for one would really like to have tougher landing struts since I fly on the snow or even ice and they give more vibration, and would really like to have a tougher main shaft, I seam to bend mine tiny bit every time I carry the heli vertically.
I have century's metal main grips and all metal tail on my swift, from quickuk/raptor incl pitch metal slider. They fit perfectly and I no longer fear for the tail.
In the end, I think it's a great machine for me. The metal threads, guys, you got to check them out, I constantly strip them. But I use a locknut after I strip them and it all works fine, except for the washout guide, which really has to be treated gently. If nothing else, I would've changed them to m4. For me these are minor issues.
I never tried Logo, but when I see plastic main grips, I instantly think get a metal. Geez at 3000+ neutons going plastic feels uncofortable to me.

If you don't like it, don't buy it. It has not been released yet and you are already on the bashing wagon. If I remember correctly, the Trex 500 is made by Align....can you say QC. I also remember the Logo stripping main gears in mid-flight causing catastrophic crashes. ALL helis have problems.

All of the upgrade have been done to the 620 and most of those are purely for show they are not "needed".

The Logo does cost the same price......until you crash! I did a side by side comparison with the parts price of the Logo 600 to my 3DMP (boom, mainshaft, frames, feathering spindle, main gear,) and guess what....the Logo cost just as much to repair! Kind of hard to swallow a $250 on a $450 machine.
I hope the 620 comes and has a good showing so that Century can get a 600 sized competitor in the mix......Ron
