hi guys ,thinking of getting a tuned pipe for my os50 hyper, thats in a raptor 50v2. had a look at pictures in RR but it seems the canopy has to be cut ,is there a pipe that will fit without cutting, as i would rather not.or can i fit a MP2 someway that i wont have to, any ideas?. thanks

Most pipes require cutting of the canopy on the rappie. If you get the 3D FRP canopy, no cutting required.

Trimming the canopy isn't that hard and the perfomance gain of a tuned pipe is well worth the sacrifice. Remove the pipe and install the canopy. Hold the pipe in the approx position and mark canopy with a sharpy. Cut a little away at a time following the contour of the line you drew. Keep trimming until it fits. As long as you trim a little at a time, you can't go wrong. I used curved lexan car body scissors and cleaned it up with a dremmel.

Hatori SB-50HP fits (edited)

The Hatori SB-50HP Jason Kraus Special fits without any cutting.

The canopy is a TT FRP and it is extremely close to the pipe.

Get the align trex 600 pipe. It requires some trimming but has the power of a Hatori at a 50 dollar savings.

So, how do we know the Align 600 pipe has the same power? Do you have numbers? Have you tested both pipes on the same machine/engine/fuel combo and did climbout test to a certain altitude for a period of time or something? Same goes with the Hatori 552 muffler, how is it better besides just being said so?

I did actual flight testing, the 522 works better than the MP5 and SB50.The SB50 is crap for power, the mp5 is better

Yes I flew them on the same machine. Its got the same power, its a little louder and a lot cheaper and personally I think it looks better.

The Weston Genesis mini-pipes will just bolt on with no canopy cutting required , plus they will probably give you more power and are cheaper than most of the others .
